13 ¶ Y yo me paré sobre la arena del mar, y vi una bestia subir del mar, que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos; y sobre sus cuernos diez diademas; y sobre las cabezas de ella nombre de blasfemia.

²Y la bestia que vi, era semejante a un leopardo, y sus pies como pies de oso, y su boca como boca de león. Y el dragón le dio su poder, y su trono, y gran potestad.

³Y vi una de sus cabezas como herida de muerte, y la llaga de su muerte fue curada; y toda la tierra maravillada, siguió a la bestia.

⁴Y adoraron al dragón que había dado la potestad a la bestia, y adoraron a la bestia, diciendo: ¿Quién es semejante a la bestia, y quién podrá lidiar con él?

⁵Y le fue dada boca que hablaba grandes cosas y blasfemias; y le fue dada potencia de obrar cuarenta y dos meses.

⁶Y abrió su boca en blasfemias contra Dios, para blasfemar su Nombre, y su Tabernáculo, y los que moran en el cielo.

⁷Y le fue dado hacer guerra contra los santos, y vencerlos. También le fue dada potencia sobre toda tribu y pueblo y lengua y gente.

⁸Y todos los que moran en la tierra le adoraron, cuyos nombres no están escritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero, el cual fue muerto desde el principio del mundo.

⁹Si alguno tiene oído, oiga.

¹⁰El que lleva en cautividad, va en cautividad; el que a espada matare, es necesario que a espada sea muerto. Aquí está la paciencia y la fe de los santos.

¹¹¶ Después vi otra bestia que subía de la tierra; y tenía dos cuernos semejantes a los del Cordero, mas hablaba como el dragón.

¹²Y ejerce todo el poder de la primera bestia en presencia de él; y hace a la tierra y a los moradores de ella adorar la primera bestia, cuya llaga de muerte fue curada.

¹³Y hace grandes señales, de tal manera que aun hace descender fuego del cielo a la tierra delante de los hombres.

¹⁴Y engaña a los moradores de la tierra por las señales que le ha sido dado hacer en presencia de la bestia, mandando a los moradores de la tierra que hagan una imagen de la bestia que tiene la herida de espada, y vivió.

¹⁵Y le fue dado que diera espíritu a la imagen de la bestia, para que la imagen de la bestia hable; y hará que los que no adoren la imagen de la bestia sean muertos.

¹⁶Y hacía a todos, a los pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, tomar la marca en su mano derecha, o en sus frentes;

¹⁷y que ninguno pueda comprar o vender, sino el que tiene la marca, o el nombre de la bestia, o el número de su nombre.

¹⁸Aquí hay sabiduría. El que tiene entendimiento, cuente el número de la bestia; porque el número es de hombre, y el número de él es seiscientos sesenta y seis.

La bestia que surge del mar

Entonces vi que del mar subía una bestia, la cual tenía diez cuernos y siete cabezas. En cada cuerno tenía una diadema y en cada cabeza un nombre blasfemo contra Dios. ²La bestia parecía un leopardo, pero tenía patas como de oso y fauces como de león. El dragón le confirió a la bestia su poder, su trono y gran autoridad. ³Una de las cabezas de la bestia parecía haber sufrido una herida mortal, pero esa herida ya había sido sanada. El mundo entero, fascinado, iba tras la bestia ⁴y adoraba al dragón porque había dado su autoridad a la bestia. También adoraban a la bestia y decían: «¿Quién como la bestia? ¿Quién puede combatirla?».

⁵A la bestia se le permitió hablar con arrogancia y proferir blasfemias contra Dios; además, se le confirió autoridad para actuar durante cuarenta y dos meses. ⁶Abrió la boca para blasfemar contra Dios, para maldecir su nombre y su santuario y a los que viven en el cielo. ⁷También se le permitió hacer la guerra a los creyentes y vencerlos y se le dio autoridad sobre toda tribu, pueblo, lengua y nación. ⁸A la bestia la adorarán todos los habitantes de la tierra, aquellos cuyos nombres no han sido escritos en el libro de la vida, el libro del Cordero que fue sacrificado desde la creación del mundo.^[b]

⁹El que tenga oídos, que oiga.

¹⁰El que deba ser llevado cautivo,
a la cautividad irá.
El que deba morir^[c] a espada,
a filo de espada morirá.

¡En esto consisten^[d] la perseverancia y la fidelidad de los creyentes!

La bestia que sube de la tierra

¹¹Después vi que de la tierra subía otra bestia. Tenía dos cuernos como de cordero, pero hablaba como dragón. ¹²Ejercía toda la autoridad de la primera bestia en presencia de ella y hacía que la tierra y sus habitantes adoraran a la primera bestia, cuya herida mortal había sido sanada. ¹³También hacía grandes señales, incluso la de hacer caer fuego del cielo a la tierra, a la vista de todos. ¹⁴Con estas señales que se le permitió hacer en presencia de la primera bestia, engañó a los habitantes de la tierra. Ordenó que hicieran una imagen en honor de la bestia que, después de ser herida a espada, revivió. ¹⁵Se le permitió infundir vida a la imagen de la primera bestia, para que hablara y mandara matar a quienes no adoraran la imagen. ¹⁶Además logró que a todos, grandes y pequeños, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se les pusiera una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente, ¹⁷para que nadie pudiera comprar ni vender, a menos que llevara la marca que es el nombre de la bestia o el número de ese nombre.

¹⁸En esto consiste^[e] la sabiduría: el que tenga entendimiento, calcule el número de la bestia, pues es número de un ser humano: seiscientos sesenta y seis.

13 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

²And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

³And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

⁴And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

⁵And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

⁶And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

⁷And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

⁸And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

⁹If any man have an ear, let him hear.

¹⁰He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

¹¹And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

¹²And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

¹³And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

¹⁴And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

¹⁵And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

¹⁶And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

¹⁷And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

¹⁸Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

⁴^(D)поклониха се и на звяра, като казваха: Кой е като този звяр и кой може да воюва против него?

⁵^(E)И даде му се уста да говори горделиво и богохулно; дадена му бе още власт да действа четиридесет и два месеца.

⁶^(F)Той отвори устата си да изрече хули против Бога, да хули името Му и небесното Му жилище и онези, които живеят на небесата.

⁷^(G)И му бе позволено да воюва против светиите и да ги победи; и му бе дадена власт над всеки род и народ, език и племе.

The Beast out of the Sea

13 The dragon^[a] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea.^(A) It had ten horns and seven heads,^(B) with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.^(C) ²The beast I saw resembled a leopard,^(D) but had feet like those of a bear^(E) and a mouth like that of a lion.^(F) The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.^(G) ³One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed.^(H) The whole world was filled with wonder^(I) and followed the beast. ⁴People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like^(J) the beast? Who can wage war against it?”

⁵The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies^(K) and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.^(L) ⁶It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.^(M) ⁷It was given power to wage war^(N) against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.^(O) ⁸All inhabitants of the earth^(P) will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,^(Q) the Lamb^(R) who was slain from the creation of the world.^[b]^(S)

⁹Whoever has ears, let them hear.^(T)

¹⁰“If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed^[c] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”^[d]^(U)

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness^(V) on the part of God’s people.^(W)

The Beast out of the Earth

¹¹Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth.^(X) It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.^(Y) ¹²It exercised all the authority^(Z) of the first beast on its behalf,^(AA) and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast,^(AB) whose fatal wound had been healed.^(AC) ¹³And it performed great signs,^(AD) even causing fire to come down from heaven^(AE) to the earth in full view of the people. ¹⁴Because of the signs^(AF) it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived^(AG) the inhabitants of the earth.^(AH) It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.^(AI) ¹⁵The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship^(AJ) the image to be killed.^(AK) ¹⁶It also forced all people, great and small,^(AL) rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,^(AM) ¹⁷so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark,^(AN) which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.^(AO)

¹⁸This calls for wisdom.^(AP) Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.^[e]^(AQ) That number is 666.
