1 ¶ La revelación de Jesucristo, que Dios le dio, para manifestar a sus esclavos las cosas que conviene que sean hechas presto; y envió, y las indicó por señales por su ángel a Juan su esclavo,
2 el cual ha dado testimonio de la palabra de Dios, y del testimonio de Jesucristo, y de todas las cosas que ha visto.
3 ¶ Bienaventurado el que lee, y los que oyen las palabras de esta Profecía, y guardan las cosas que en ella están escritas, porque el tiempo está cerca.
4 Juan, a las siete iglesias que están en Asia: Gracia sea con vosotros, y paz del que es y que era, y que ha de venir, y de los siete Espíritus que están delante de su trono;
5 y de Jesús el Cristo, el testigo fiel, el Primogénito de los muertos, y Príncipe de los reyes de la tierra. Al que nos amó, y nos ha lavado de nuestros pecados con su sangre,
6 y nos ha hecho reyes y sacerdotes para Dios y su Padre: a él sea gloria e imperio para siempre jamás. Amén.
7 He aquí que viene con las nubes, y todo ojo le verá, y los que le traspasaron; y todos los linajes de la tierra se lamentarán sobre él. Así sea. Amén.
8 YO SOY el Alfa y la Omega: principio y fin, dice el Señor, el que es y que era y que ha de venir, el Todopoderoso.
9 ¶ Yo Juan, vuestro hermano, y participante en la tribulación y en el Reino, y en la paciencia de Jesucristo; estaba en la isla que es llamada Patmos, por la palabra de Dios y el testimonio de Jesucristo.
10 Yo fui en el Espíritu en el día del Señor, y oí detrás de mí una gran voz como de trompeta,
11 que decía: YO SOY el Alfa y la Omega, el primero y el último. Escribe en un libro lo que ves, y envíalo a las siete Iglesias que están en Asia: a Efeso, a Esmirna, a Pérgamo, a Tiatira, a Sardis, a Filadelfia, y a Laodicea.
12 Y me volví a ver la voz que hablaba conmigo; y vuelto, vi siete candeleros de oro;
13 y en medio de los siete candeleros, uno semejante al Hijo de hombre, vestido de una ropa que llegaba hasta los pies, y ceñido por los pechos con una cinta de oro.
14 Y su cabeza y sus cabellos eran blancos como la lana blanca, como la nieve; y sus ojos como llama de fuego;
15 y sus pies semejantes al latón fino, ardientes como en un horno; y su voz como ruido de muchas aguas.
16 Y tenía en su diestra siete estrellas; y de su boca salía una espada aguda de dos filos. Y su rostro era como el sol cuando resplandece en su fuerza.
17 Y cuando yo le vi, caí como muerto a sus pies. Y él puso su diestra sobre mí, diciéndome: No temas; YO SOY el primero y el último;
18 y el que vivo, y he sido muerto; y he aquí que vivo para siempre jamás, Amén. Y tengo las llaves del Hades y de la muerte.
19 Escribe las cosas que has visto, y las que son, y las que han de ser después de éstas.
20 El misterio de las siete estrellas que has visto en mi diestra, y los siete candeleros de oro. Las siete estrellas son los ángeles de las siete Iglesias; y los siete candeleros que has visto, son las siete Iglesias.

Greetings
1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. Christ made it known by sending it through his angel to his servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the witness of Jesus Christ, including all that John saw. 3 Favored is the one who reads the words of this prophecy out loud, and favored are those who listen to it being read, and keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
4 John, to the seven churches that are in Asia:
Grace and peace to you from the one who is and was and is coming, and from the seven spirits that are before God’s throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ—the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 who made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be glory and power forever and always. Amen.
7 Look, he is coming with the clouds! Every eye will see him, including those who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him. This is so. Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is and was and is coming, the Almighty.”
Christ appears to John
9 I, John, your brother who shares with you in the hardship, kingdom, and endurance that we have in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and my witness about Jesus. 10 I was in a Spirit-inspired trance on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice that sounded like a trumpet. 11 It said, “Write down on a scroll whatever you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”
12 I turned to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned, I saw seven oil lamps burning on top of seven gold stands. 13 In the middle of the lampstands I saw someone who looked like the Human One.[a] He wore a robe that stretched down to his feet, and he had a gold sash around his chest. 14 His head and hair were white as white wool—like snow—and his eyes were like a fiery flame. 15 His feet were like fine brass that has been purified in a furnace, and his voice sounded like rushing water. 16 He held seven stars in his right hand, and from his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword. His appearance was like the sun shining with all its power.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. But he put his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m the first and the last, 18 and the living one. I was dead, but look! Now I’m alive forever and always. I have the keys of Death and the Grave. 19 So write down what you have seen, both the scene now before you and the things that are about to unfold after this. 20 As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and the seven gold lampstands, here is what they mean: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave(A) him to show his servants what must soon take place.(B) He made it known by sending his angel(C) to his servant John,(D) 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God(E) and the testimony of Jesus Christ.(F) 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it,(G) because the time is near.(H)
Greetings and Doxology
4 John,
To the seven churches(I) in the province of Asia:
Grace and peace to you(J) from him who is, and who was, and who is to come,(K) and from the seven spirits[a](L) before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,(M) the firstborn from the dead,(N) and the ruler of the kings of the earth.(O)
To him who loves us(P) and has freed us from our sins by his blood,(Q) 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests(R) to serve his God and Father(S)—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.(T)
7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”[b](U)
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;(V)
and all peoples on earth “will mourn(W) because of him.”[c]
So shall it be! Amen.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,”(X) says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come,(Y) the Almighty.”(Z)
John’s Vision of Christ
9 I, John,(AA) your brother and companion in the suffering(AB) and kingdom(AC) and patient endurance(AD) that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God(AE) and the testimony of Jesus.(AF) 10 On the Lord’s Day(AG) I was in the Spirit,(AH) and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,(AI) 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see(AJ) and send it to the seven churches:(AK) to Ephesus,(AL) Smyrna,(AM) Pergamum,(AN) Thyatira,(AO) Sardis,(AP) Philadelphia(AQ) and Laodicea.”(AR)
12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,(AS) 13 and among the lampstands(AT) was someone like a son of man,[d](AU) dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet(AV) and with a golden sash around his chest.(AW) 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.(AX) 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,(AY) and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.(AZ) 16 In his right hand he held seven stars,(BA) and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword.(BB) His face was like the sun(BC) shining in all its brilliance.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet(BD) as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me(BE) and said: “Do not be afraid.(BF) I am the First and the Last.(BG) 18 I am the Living One; I was dead,(BH) and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!(BI) And I hold the keys of death and Hades.(BJ)
19 “Write, therefore, what you have seen,(BK) what is now and what will take place later. 20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand(BL) and of the seven golden lampstands(BM) is this: The seven stars are the angels[e] of the seven churches,(BN) and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.(BO)
