Carta à Igreja de Sardes
3 “Ao anjo da igreja em Sardes escreva:
“Estas são as palavras daquele que tem os sete espíritos de Deus e as sete estrelas. Conheço as suas obras; você tem fama de estar vivo, mas está morto. 2 Esteja atento! Fortaleça o que resta e que estava para morrer, pois não achei suas obras perfeitas aos olhos do meu Deus. 3 Lembre-se, portanto, do que você recebeu e ouviu; obedeça e arrependa-se. Mas se você não estiver atento, virei como um ladrão e você não saberá a que hora virei contra você.
4 “No entanto, você tem aí em Sardes uns poucos que não contaminaram as suas vestes. Eles andarão comigo, vestidos de branco, pois são dignos. 5 O vencedor será igualmente vestido de branco. Jamais apagarei o seu nome do livro da vida, mas o reconhecerei diante do meu Pai e dos seus anjos. 6 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.

7 “Ao anjo da igreja em Filadélfia escreva:
“Estas são as palavras daquele que é santo e verdadeiro, que tem a chave de Davi. O que ele abre ninguém pode fechar, e o que ele fecha ninguém pode abrir. 8 Conheço as suas obras. Eis que coloquei diante de você uma porta aberta que ninguém pode fechar. Sei que você tem pouca força, mas guardou a minha palavra e não negou o meu nome. 9 Veja o que farei com aqueles que são sinagoga de Satanás e que se dizem judeus e não são, mas são mentirosos. Farei que se prostrem aos seus pés e reconheçam que eu o amei. 10 Visto que você guardou a minha palavra de exortação à perseverança, eu também o guardarei da hora da provação que está para vir sobre todo o mundo, para pôr à prova os que habitam na terra.
11 “Venho em breve! Retenha o que você tem, para que ninguém tome a sua coroa. 12 Farei do vencedor uma coluna no santuário do meu Deus, e dali ele jamais sairá. Escreverei nele o nome do meu Deus e o nome da cidade do meu Deus, a nova Jerusalém, que desce dos céus da parte de Deus; e também escreverei nele o meu novo nome. 13 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.

14 “Ao anjo da igreja em Laodicéia escreva:
“Estas são as palavras do Amém, a testemunha fiel e verdadeira, o soberano da criação de Deus. 15 Conheço as suas obras, sei que você não é frio nem quente. Melhor seria que você fosse frio ou quente! 16 Assim, porque você é morno, não é frio nem quente, estou a ponto de vomitá-lo da minha boca. 17 Você diz: ‘Estou rico, adquiri riquezas e não preciso de nada’. Não reconhece, porém, que é miserável, digno de compaixão, pobre, cego, e que está nu. 18 Dou-lhe este conselho: Compre de mim ouro refinado no fogo, e você se tornará rico; compre roupas brancas e vista-se para cobrir a sua vergonhosa nudez; e compre colírio para ungir os seus olhos e poder enxergar.
19 “Repreendo e disciplino aqueles que eu amo. Por isso, seja diligente e arrependa-se. 20 Eis que estou à porta e bato. Se alguém ouvir a minha voz e abrir a porta, entrarei e cearei com ele, e ele comigo.
21 “Ao vencedor darei o direito de sentar-se comigo em meu trono, assim como eu também venci e sentei-me com meu Pai em seu trono. 22 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas”.

3 E ao anjo da igreja que está em Sardes escreve: Isto diz o que tem os sete Espíritos de Deus e as sete estrelas:
Eu sei as tuas obras, que tens nome de que vives e estás morto. 2 Sê vigilante e confirma o restante que estava para morrer, porque não achei as tuas obras perfeitas diante de Deus. 3 Lembra-te, pois, do que tens recebido e ouvido, e guarda-o, e arrepende-te. E, se não vigiares, virei sobre ti como um ladrão, e não saberás a que hora sobre ti virei. 4 Mas também tens em Sardes algumas pessoas que não contaminaram suas vestes e comigo andarão de branco, porquanto são dignas disso. 5 O que vencer será vestido de vestes brancas, e de maneira nenhuma riscarei o seu nome do livro da vida; e confessarei o seu nome diante de meu Pai e diante dos seus anjos. 6 Quem tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.

7 E ao anjo da igreja que está em Filadélfia escreve: Isto diz o que é santo, o que é verdadeiro, o que tem a chave de Davi, o que abre, e ninguém fecha, e fecha, e ninguém abre:
8 Eu sei as tuas obras; eis que diante de ti pus uma porta aberta, e ninguém a pode fechar; tendo pouca força, guardaste a minha palavra e não negaste o meu nome. 9 Eis que eu farei aos da sinagoga de Satanás (aos que se dizem judeus e não são, mas mentem), eis que eu farei que venham, e adorem prostrados a teus pés, e saibam que eu te amo. 10 Como guardaste a palavra da minha paciência, também eu te guardarei da hora da tentação que há de vir sobre todo o mundo, para tentar os que habitam na terra. 11 Eis que venho sem demora; guarda o que tens, para que ninguém tome a tua coroa. 12 A quem vencer, eu o farei coluna no templo do meu Deus, e dele nunca sairá; e escreverei sobre ele o nome do meu Deus e o nome da cidade do meu Deus, a nova Jerusalém, que desce do céu, do meu Deus, e também o meu novo nome. 13 Quem tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.

14 E ao anjo da igreja que está em Laodiceia escreve: Isto diz o Amém, a testemunha fiel e verdadeira, o princípio da criação de Deus.
15 Eu sei as tuas obras, que nem és frio nem quente. Tomara que foras frio ou quente! 16 Assim, porque és morno e não és frio nem quente, vomitar-te-ei da minha boca. 17 Como dizes: Rico sou, e estou enriquecido, e de nada tenho falta (e não sabes que és um desgraçado, e miserável, e pobre, e cego, e nu), 18 aconselho-te que de mim compres ouro provado no fogo, para que te enriqueças, e vestes brancas, para que te vistas, e não apareça a vergonha da tua nudez; e que unjas os olhos com colírio, para que vejas. 19 Eu repreendo e castigo a todos quantos amo; sê, pois, zeloso e arrepende-te. 20 Eis que estou à porta e bato; se alguém ouvir a minha voz e abrir a porta, entrarei em sua casa e com ele cearei, e ele, comigo. 21 Ao que vencer, lhe concederei que se assente comigo no meu trono, assim como eu venci e me assentei com meu Pai no seu trono. 22 Quem tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.

To the Church in Sardis
3 “To the angel[a] of the church in Sardis(A) write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits[b](B) of God and the seven stars.(C) I know your deeds;(D) you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.(E) 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.(F) But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief,(G) and you will not know at what time(H) I will come to you.
4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes.(I) They will walk with me, dressed in white,(J) for they are worthy. 5 The one who is victorious(K) will, like them, be dressed in white.(L) I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life,(M) but will acknowledge that name before my Father(N) and his angels. 6 Whoever has ears, let them hear(O) what the Spirit says to the churches.

7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia(P) write:
These are the words of him who is holy(Q) and true,(R) who holds the key of David.(S) What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds.(T) See, I have placed before you an open door(U) that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.(V) 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan,(W) who claim to be Jews though they are not,(X) but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet(Y) and acknowledge that I have loved you.(Z) 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you(AA) from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world(AB) to test(AC) the inhabitants of the earth.(AD)
11 I am coming soon.(AE) Hold on to what you have,(AF) so that no one will take your crown.(AG) 12 The one who is victorious(AH) I will make a pillar(AI) in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God(AJ) and the name of the city of my God,(AK) the new Jerusalem,(AL) which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear(AM) what the Spirit says to the churches.
To the Church in Laodicea
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea(AN) write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness,(AO) the ruler of God’s creation.(AP) 15 I know your deeds,(AQ) that you are neither cold nor hot.(AR) I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’(AS) But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.(AT) 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire,(AU) so you can become rich; and white clothes(AV) to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness;(AW) and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.(AX) So be earnest and repent.(AY) 20 Here I am! I stand at the door(AZ) and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,(BA) I will come in(BB) and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious,(BC) I will give the right to sit with me on my throne,(BD) just as I was victorious(BE) and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear(BF) what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Brevet till församlingen i Sardes
3 Skriv detta brev till ledaren för församlingen i Sardes:Detta budskap kommer till dig från honom som har Guds sju andar och de sju stjärnorna.Jag vet att du är känd som en levande och aktiv församling, men du är död!
2 Nu måste du vakna upp! Stärk det lilla liv som finns kvar - för också det är nära att slockna. Dina handlingar är långt ifrån riktiga i Guds ögon.
3 Gå tillbaka till vad du först hörde och trodde. Håll stadigt fast vid det, vänd om, och kom tillbaka till mig. Om du inte gör det, ska jag komma till dig plötsligt, oväntat som en tjuv, och straffa dig.
4 Trots detta finns det några också i Sardes, som inte har fläckat ner sina kläder med världens orenhet. De ska vandra med mig, klädda i vita kläder, för de har verkligen förtjänat det.
5 Alla som segrar ska få vita kläder, och jag ska inte stryka ut deras namn ur livets bok, utan jag ska inför min Far och hans änglar förklara att de tillhör mig.
6 Om du kan höra, så lyssna till vad Anden säger till församlingarna.
Brevet till församlingen i Filadelfia
7 Skriv detta brev till ledaren för församlingen i Filadelfia:Detta budskap kommer till dig från honom som är helig och sann och som har Davids nyckel. Han öppnar och ingen annan kan stänga, han stänger och ingen annan kan öppna.
8 Jag känner till ditt arbete: Du är inte stark, men du har hållit fast vid mitt ord, och du har inte förnekat mitt namn. Därför har jag öppnat en dörr för dig, som ingen kan stänga.
9 Lyssna nu! Det ska komma människor till dig som påstår att de är fromma och gudfruktiga. Men de ljuger. I verkligheten går de Satans ärenden. Men jag ska tvinga dem att falla ner för dina fötter och erkänna att det är dig jag älskar.
10 Eftersom du har lyssnat till mitt ord och varit uthållig, ska jag skydda dig från den tid av stora plågor och frestelser som ska komma över världen för att sätta alla levande varelser på prov.
11 Se, jag kommer snart! Håll stadigt fast vid det du har, så att ingen tar ifrån dig din segerkrans.
12 Den som segrar ska jag göra till en pelare i Guds tempel. Han kommer att vara trygg och behöver inte längre gå ut därifrån. Och jag ska skriva min Guds namn på honom, och han ska vara medborgare i min Guds stad - det nya Jerusalem, som kommer ner från himlen, från Gud. Och mitt nya namn ska vara skrivet på honom.

14 Skriv detta brev till ledaren för församlingen i Laodikeia:Detta budskap kommer från honom som står fast, det trofasta och sanna vittnet, den ursprungliga källan till Guds skapelse.
15 Jag känner dig väl - du är varken varm eller kall! Jag önskar att du var det ena eller det andra.
16 Men eftersom du bara är ljum ska jag spotta ut dig ur min mun!
17 Du säger: 'Jag är rik och har allt jag önskar! Jag behöver inte något mer!' Och du förstår inte att du andligt sett är eländig och bedrövlig - fattig, blind och naken.
18 Mitt råd till dig är att du köper rent guld av mig, guld som har renats genom eld. Först då kommer du att bli verkligt rik. Du bör också köpa vita, rena kläder av mig, så att du inte behöver gå naken och skämmas. Dessutom bör du hämta salva hos mig, för att smörja dina ögon med, så att du får tillbaka din syn.
19 Jag fostrar och straffar ständigt alla som jag älskar. Därför måste jag straffa dig, om du inte vänder om från din likgiltighet. Bli därför brinnande och ivrig på nytt!
20 Se! Jag har stått vid dörren länge nu, och jag knackar ständigt på. Om någon hör min röst och öppnar dörren, så ska jag komma in och dela gemenskapen med honom och han med mig.
21 Alla som segrar över det onda, ska få sitta bredvid mig på min tron, på samma sätt som jag som segrare tog min plats bredvid min Far på hans tron.

2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
