³⁹ When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away,^(A) and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

¹² I don’t know where the Spirit^(A) of the Lord may carry you when I leave you. If I go and tell Ahab and he doesn’t find you, he will kill me. Yet I your servant have worshiped the Lord since my youth.

¹⁶ “Look,” they said, “we your servants have fifty able men. Let them go and look for your master. Perhaps the Spirit^(A) of the Lord has picked him up^(B) and set him down on some mountain or in some valley.”

“No,” Elisha replied, “do not send them.”

²⁴ The Spirit^(A) lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia^[a] in the vision^(B) given by the Spirit of God.

Then the vision I had seen went up from me,

³ He stretched out what looked like a hand^(A) and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up^(B) between earth and heaven and in visions^(C) of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court,^(D) where the idol that provokes to jealousy^(E) stood.

⁵ Then the Spirit^(A) lifted me up^(B) and brought me into the inner court, and the glory^(C) of the Lord filled the temple.^(D)

God’s Sure Judgment on Jerusalem

11 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah^(A) son of Benaiah, leaders^(B) of the people.^(C)

¹² Then the Spirit lifted me up,^(A) and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the Lord rose from the place where it was standing.^{[a] 13} It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures^(B) brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.^{(C) 14} The Spirit^(D) then lifted me up^(E) and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the Lord^(F) on me.

² I know a man in Christ^(A) who fourteen years ago was caught up^(B) to the third heaven.^(C) Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows.^{(D) 3} And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— ⁴ was caught up^(E) to paradise^(F) and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.
