²⁸ saying, ^(A)“We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you ^(B)intend to bring this man's blood upon us.”

²⁵ And all the people answered, ^(A)“His blood be on us and ^(B)on our children!”

^52 (A)Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of ^(B)the Righteous One, ^(C)whom you have now betrayed and murdered,

¹⁸ So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John answered them, ^(A)“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, ²⁰ for ^(B)we cannot but speak of what ^(C)we have seen and heard.” ²¹ And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, ^(D)because of the people, for all were praising God ^(E)for what had happened.

¹⁰ let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that ^(A)by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, ^(B)whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. ^11 (C)This Jesus^[a] is the stone that was ^(D)rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.^[b]

^15 (A)who killed both the Lord Jesus and ^(B)the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and ^(C)oppose all mankind ^16 (D)by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always ^(E)to fill up the measure of their sins. But ^(F)wrath has come upon them at last!^[a]

⁴⁰ and ^(A)when they had called in the apostles, ^(B)they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

¹⁴ But you denied ^(A)the Holy and ^(B)Righteous One, and ^(C)asked for a murderer to be granted to you, ¹⁵ and you killed ^(D)the Author of life, ^(E)whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.

²³ this Jesus,^{[a] (A)}delivered up according to ^(B)the definite plan and ^(C)foreknowledge of God, ^(D)you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. ^24 (E)God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because ^(F)it was not possible for him to be held by it. ²⁵ For David says concerning him,

²⁹ “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about ^(M)the patriarch David ^(N)that he both died and ^(O)was buried, and ^(P)his tomb is with us to this day. ^30 (Q)Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that ^(R)God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, ³¹ he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that ^(S)he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. ³² This Jesus ^(T)God raised up, ^(U)and of that we all are witnesses. ^33 (V)Being therefore ^(W)exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from ^(X)the Father ^(Y)the promise of the Holy Spirit, ^(Z)he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. ³⁴ For ^(AA)David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ^(AC)God has made him ^(AD)both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ^(AE)whom you crucified.”
