¹⁷ But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of ^(A)the Sadducees), and filled with ^(B)jealousy

^45 (A)But ^(B)when the Jews^[a] saw the crowds, they were filled with ^(C)jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, ^(D)reviling him.

^5 (A)But the Jews^{[a] (B)}were jealous, and taking ^(C)some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd.

2 ^(A)So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

^10 (A)So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well,

⁴⁷ So the chief priests and the Pharisees ^(A)gathered ^(B)the council and said, ^(C)“What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. ⁴⁸ If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and ^(D)the Romans will come and take away both our ^(E)place and our nation.” ⁴⁹ But one of them, ^(F)Caiaphas, ^(G)who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all.

¹⁸ For he knew that it was out ^(A)of envy that they had delivered him up.

⁴ Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is ^(A)vanity^[a] and a striving after wind.
