^21 (A)whom heaven must receive until the times of ^(B)restoration of all things, ^(C)which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since ^[a]the world began.

²¹ because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of ^[a]corruption into the glorious ^(A)liberty of the children of God.

¹¹ who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, ^(A)will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

The Time Is Near

⁶ Then he said to me, ^(A)“These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the ^[a]holy prophets ^(B)sent His angel to show His servants the things which must ^(C)shortly take place.

¹¹ And they asked Him, saying, “Why do the scribes say ^(A)that Elijah must come first?”

¹² Then He answered and told them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And ^(B)how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and ^(C)be treated with contempt? ¹³ But I say to you that ^(D)Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him.”

¹¹ Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming ^[a]first and will ^(A)restore all things. ^12 (B)But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they ^(C)did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise ^(D)the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.”
