^21 (A)whom heaven must receive until the time for ^(B)restoring all the things about which ^(C)God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

²¹ that ^(A)the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

¹¹ and said, ^(A)“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, ^(B)will ^(C)come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Jesus Is Coming

⁶ And he said to me, ^(A)“These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of ^(B)the spirits of the prophets, ^(C)has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”

¹¹ And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say ^(A)that first Elijah must come?” ¹² And he said to them, “Elijah does come first ^(B)to restore all things. And ^(C)how is it written of the Son of Man that he should ^(D)suffer many things and ^(E)be treated with contempt? ¹³ But I tell you that Elijah has come, and ^(F)they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”

¹¹ He answered, “Elijah does come, and ^(A)he will restore all things. ¹² But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but ^(B)did to him whatever they pleased. ^(C)So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.”

^5 (A)“Behold, I will send you ^(B)Elijah the prophet ^(C)before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. ⁶ And he will ^(D)turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and ^(E)strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”^[a]
