³⁸ And Peter said to them, ^(A)“Repent and ^(B)be baptized every one of you ^(C)in the name of Jesus Christ ^(D)for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ^(E)the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ And now why do you wait? ^(A)Rise and be baptized and ^(B)wash away your sins, ^(C)calling on his name.’

^16 (A)Whoever believes and is ^(B)baptized ^(C)will be saved, but ^(D)whoever ^(E)does not believe will be condemned.

¹² But when ^(A)they believed Philip as he preached good news ^(B)about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, ^(C)they were baptized, both men and women.

⁴⁸ And he ^(A)commanded them ^(B)to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.

⁴⁷ and that ^(A)repentance for^[a] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ^(B)in his name ^(C)to all nations, ^(D)beginning from Jerusalem.

^19 (A)Repent therefore, and ^(B)turn back, that ^(C)your sins may be blotted out,

²¹ Baptism, which corresponds to this, ^(A)now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but ^(B)as an appeal to God for a good conscience, ^(C)through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

⁴⁴ While Peter was still saying these things, ^(A)the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. ⁴⁵ And the believers from among ^(B)the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because ^(C)the gift of the Holy Spirit ^(D)was poured out even on the Gentiles.
