^5 (A)When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul ^(B)was occupied with the word, ^(C)testifying to the Jews that the Christ was ^(D)Jesus.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ ^(A)controls us, because we have concluded this: that ^(B)one has died for all, therefore all have died;

^21 (A)testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of ^(B)repentance toward God and of ^(C)faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.^[a]

²⁸ for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures ^(A)that the Christ was Jesus.

^3 (A)explaining and proving that it was necessary for ^(B)the Christ to suffer and ^(C)to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”

¹⁴ Then the brothers ^(A)immediately sent Paul off on his way to the sea, but Silas and ^(B)Timothy remained there. ^15 (C)Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as ^(D)Athens, and after receiving a command ^(E)for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.

¹⁶ Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was ^(F)provoked within him as he saw that the city was ^(G)full of idols.

²² But Saul ^(A)increased all the more in strength, and ^(B)confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving ^(C)that Jesus was the Christ.

^14 (A)The Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness in the heat of my spirit, the ^(B)hand of the Lord being strong upon me.
