¹² “If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
    ^(C)for the world and its fullness are mine.
¹³ Do I eat the flesh of bulls
    or drink the blood of goats?

“‘For we are indeed his offspring.’^[b]

⁵ Thus says God, the Lord,
    who created the heavens ^(A)and stretched them out,
    who spread out the earth and what comes from it,
^(B)who gives breath to the people on it
    and spirit to those who walk in it:

²⁷ These ^(A)all look to you,
    to ^(B)give them their food in due season.
²⁸ When you give it to them, they gather it up;
    when you ^(C)open your hand, they are filled with good things.
²⁹ When you ^(D)hide your face, they are ^(E)dismayed;
    when you ^(F)take away their breath, they die
    and ^(G)return to their dust.
³⁰ When you ^(H)send forth your Spirit,^[a] they are created,
    and you ^(I)renew the face of the ground.
