²³ And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely.

¹⁰ Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, ^(A)that you may be tested, and for ^(B)ten days ^(C)you will have tribulation. ^(D)Be faithful ^(E)unto death, and I will give you ^(F)the crown of life.

²² Go, make yet more sure. Know and see the place where his foot is, and who has seen him there, for it is told me that he is very cunning. ²³ See therefore and take note of all the lurking places where he hides, and come back to me with sure information. Then I will go with you. And if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”

⁹ I, John, your brother and ^(A)partner in ^(B)the tribulation and ^(C)the kingdom and ^(D)the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos ^(E)on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

⁹ yet for love's sake I prefer to appeal to you—I, Paul, an old man and now ^(A)a prisoner also for Christ Jesus—

^9 (A)for which I am suffering, ^(B)bound with chains as a criminal. But ^(C)the word of God is not bound!

4 I therefore, ^(A)a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to ^(B)walk in a manner worthy of ^(C)the calling to which you have been called,

3 For this reason I, Paul, ^(A)a prisoner of Christ Jesus ^(B)on behalf of you Gentiles—

³⁶ And the jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Therefore come out now and go in peace.”

²⁷ When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and ^(A)was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.
