²⁷ For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because ^(A)they did not recognize him nor understand ^(B)the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, ^(C)fulfilled them by condemning him.

The Mystery of Israel's Salvation

^25 (A)Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers:^{[a] (B)}a partial hardening has come upon Israel, ^(C)until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

^22 (A)To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so ^(B)I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what ^(C)the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: ^23 (D)that the Christ ^(E)must suffer and that, ^(F)by being the first ^(G)to rise from the dead, ^(H)he would proclaim ^(I)light both to our people and to the Gentiles.”

²¹ For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, ^(A)for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”

^24 (A)Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see.” ²⁵ And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! ^26 (B)Was it not necessary that ^(C)the Christ should suffer these things and enter into ^(D)his glory?” ²⁷ And ^(E)beginning with ^(F)Moses and ^(G)all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

²⁰ and ^(A)how our chief priests and ^(B)rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

⁴ In their case ^(A)the god of this world ^(B)has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing ^(C)the light of ^(D)the gospel of the glory of Christ, ^(E)who is the image of God.

¹⁴ But ^(A)their minds were ^(B)hardened. For to this day, ^(C)when they read ^(D)the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.
