² While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, ^(A)the Holy Spirit said, ^(B)“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul ^(C)for the work to which I have called them.”

¹⁵ But when he ^(A)who had set me apart ^(B)before I was born,^[a] and who ^(C)called me by his grace,

¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, “Go, for ^(A)he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name ^(B)before the Gentiles and ^(C)kings and the children of Israel.

^11 (A)for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher,

¹¹ All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, ^(A)who apportions to each one individually ^(B)as he wills.

Greeting

1 Paul, ^(A)a servant^[a] of Christ Jesus, ^(B)called to be an apostle, ^(C)set apart for the gospel of God,

^7 (A)For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (^(B)I am telling the truth, I am not lying), ^(C)a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

²¹ And he said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you ^(A)far away to the Gentiles.’”

²⁶ and from there they sailed to Antioch, ^(A)where they had been ^(B)commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled.

³ Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by ^(A)prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.
