³⁷ you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, ^(A)beginning ^(B)from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed:

Jesus Begins His Ministry

^14 (A)And Jesus returned ^(B)in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and ^(C)a report about him went out through all the surrounding country.

²² But we desire to hear from you what your views are, for with regard to this ^(A)sect we know that everywhere ^(B)it is spoken against.”

²⁶ For ^(A)the king knows about these things, and to him I speak boldly. For I am persuaded that none of these things has escaped his notice, for this has not been done in a corner.

²⁴ Before his coming, ^(A)John had proclaimed ^(B)a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. ²⁵ And as John was finishing his course, ^(C)he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but behold, after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

²² “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, ^(A)a man attested to you by God ^(B)with ^(C)mighty works and wonders and signs that ^(D)God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—

^22 (A)beginning from the baptism of John until the day when ^(B)he was taken up from us—one of these men must become with us ^(C)a witness to his resurrection.”

4 Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and ^(A)baptizing more disciples than John ² (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples), ³ he left Judea and departed ^(B)again for Galilee.

⁵ But they were urgent, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, ^(A)from Galilee even to this place.”

Jesus Begins His Ministry

^14 (A)Now after John was arrested, Jesus ^(B)came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, ¹⁵ and saying, ^(C)“The time is fulfilled, and ^(D)the kingdom of God is at hand;^{[a] (E)}repent and believe in the gospel.”
