^50 (A)But the Jews incited the devout ^(B)women of high standing and the leading men of the city, ^(C)stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and ^(D)drove them out of their district.

⁴ And ^(A)some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did ^(B)a great many of the devout ^(C)Greeks and not a few of the leading women.

¹⁷ So ^(A)he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the market-place every day with those who happened to be there.

¹⁴ One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, ^(A)who was a worshipper of God. The Lord ^(B)opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul.
