37 you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, (A)beginning (B)from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: 38 how (C)God anointed Jesus of Nazareth (D)with the Holy Spirit and with (E)power. He went about doing good and healing all (F)who were oppressed by the devil, (G)for God was with him. 39 And (H)we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. (I)They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, 40 but (J)God raised him on (K)the third day and made him to (L)appear, 41 (M)not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as (N)witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And (O)he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify (P)that he is the one appointed by God to be judge (Q)of the living and the dead.

37 You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— 38 how God anointed(A) Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing(B) all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.(C)

39 “We are witnesses(D) of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,(E) 40 but God raised him from the dead(F) on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people,(G) but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate(H) and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people(I) and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.(J)
