11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

11 He saw heaven opened(A) and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!”(B) Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”(C)
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”(D)
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

11 and saw (A)the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; (B)for I have never eaten anything that is (C)common or (D)unclean.” 15 And the voice came to him again a second time, (E)“What God has made clean, do not call common.” 16 This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.

11 He saw heaven opened(A) and an object that resembled a large sheet coming down, being lowered by its four corners to the earth. 12 In it were all the four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth, and the birds of the sky. 13 A voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat.”
14 “No, Lord!” Peter said. “For I have never eaten anything impure and ritually unclean.”(B)
15 Again, a second time, the voice said to him, “What God has made clean, do not call impure.”(C) 16 This happened three times, and suddenly the object was taken up into heaven.
