2 Kings 23:24-27
New Living Translation
24 Josiah also got rid of the mediums and psychics, the household gods, the idols,[a] and every other kind of detestable practice, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’s Temple. 25 Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since.
26 Even so, the Lord was very angry with Judah because of all the wicked things Manasseh had done to provoke him. 27 For the Lord said, “I will also banish Judah from my presence just as I have banished Israel. And I will reject my chosen city of Jerusalem and the Temple where my name was to be honored.”

New English Translation
24 Josiah also got rid of[a] the ritual pits used to conjure up spirits,[b] the magicians, personal idols, disgusting images,[c] and all the detestable idols that had appeared in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. In this way he carried out the terms of the law[d] recorded on the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the Lord’s temple. 25 No king before or after repented before the Lord as he did, with his whole heart, soul, and being in accordance with the whole law of Moses.[e]
26 Yet the Lord’s great anger against Judah did not subside; he was still infuriated by all the things Manasseh had done.[f] 27 The Lord announced, “I will also spurn Judah,[g] just as I spurned Israel. I will reject this city that I chose—both Jerusalem and the temple, about which I said, ‘I will live there.’[h]
