3 Să ştii că în(A) zilele din urmă vor fi vremuri grele. 2 Căci oamenii vor fi iubitori de sine(B), iubitori de bani(C), lăudăroşi(D), trufaşi(E), hulitori(F), neascultători de părinţi(G), nemulţumitori, fără evlavie, 3 fără(H) dragoste firească, neînduplecaţi, clevetitori(I), neînfrânaţi(J), neîmblânziţi, neiubitori de bine, 4 vânzători(K), obraznici, îngâmfaţi; iubitori(L) mai mult de plăceri decât iubitori de Dumnezeu, 5 având doar o formă de evlavie, dar tăgăduindu-i puterea(M). Depărtează-te de oamenii aceştia(N). 6 Sunt(O) printre ei unii care se vâră prin case şi momesc pe femeile uşuratice îngreuiate de păcate şi frământate de felurite pofte, 7 care învaţă întotdeauna şi nu pot ajunge(P) niciodată la deplina cunoştinţă a adevărului. 8 După cum(Q) Iane şi Iambre s-au împotrivit lui Moise, tot aşa şi oamenii(R) aceştia se împotrivesc adevărului, ca unii care sunt stricaţi la minte şi osândiţi(S) în ceea ce priveşte credinţa. 9 Dar nu vor mai înainta căci nebunia lor va fi arătată tuturor, cum(T) a fost arătată şi a celor doi oameni. 10 Tu, însă(U), ai urmărit de aproape învăţătura mea, purtarea mea, hotărârea mea, credinţa mea, îndelunga mea răbdare, dragostea mea, răbdarea mea, 11 prigonirile şi suferinţele care au venit peste mine în(V) Antiohia, în(W) Iconia şi în(X) Listra. Ştii ce prigoniri am răbdat, şi totuşi Domnul m-a izbăvit din(Y) toate. 12 De altfel, toţi(Z) cei ce voiesc să trăiască cu evlavie în Hristos Isus vor fi prigoniţi. 13 Dar(AA) oamenii răi şi înşelători vor merge din rău în mai rău, vor amăgi pe alţii şi se vor amăgi şi pe ei înşişi. 14 Tu(AB) să rămâi în lucrurile pe care le-ai învăţat şi de care eşti deplin încredinţat, căci ştii de la cine le-ai învăţat: 15 din pruncie cunoşti Sfintele(AC) Scripturi, care pot să-ţi dea înţelepciunea care duce la mântuire, prin credinţa în Hristos Isus. 16 Toată(AD) Scriptura este insuflată de Dumnezeu şi de folos(AE) ca să înveţe, să mustre, să îndrepte, să dea înţelepciune în neprihănire, 17 pentru ca(AF) omul lui Dumnezeu să fie desăvârşit şi cu totul destoinic(AG) pentru orice lucrare bună.

3 Unawain mo ito: Magkakaroon ng mga panahon ng kapighatian sa mga huling araw. 2 Ang mga tao'y magiging makasarili, sakim sa salapi, mayayabang, mapagmalaki, mapagmalabis, suwail sa mga magulang, walang utang na loob, at lapastangan sa Diyos. 3 Sila'y magiging malupit, walang habag, mapanirang-puri, walang pagpipigil sa sarili, mababangis, at namumuhi sa mabuti. 4 Sila'y magiging taksil, pabaya, mapusok, maibigin sa kalayawan sa halip na maibigin sa Diyos. 5 Sila'y magkukunwaring maka-Diyos, ngunit tinatanggihan naman ang kapangyarihan nito. Layuan mo ang ganitong uri ng mga tao. 6 May ilan sa kanila ang gumagamit ng panlilinlang upang makapasok sa mga tahanan at makabihag ng mga mahihinang kababaihan, mga kababaihang pinahihirapan ng kasalanan at ng iba't ibang uri ng pagnanasa. 7 Sila'y laging tinuturuan, ngunit hindi nila natututuhan ang katotohanan. 8 Kung (A) paanong sinalungat nina Janes at Jambres si Moises, kalaban din ng katotohanan ang mga taong ito, mga taong masasama ang pag-iisip at hindi tunay ang pananampalataya. 9 Ngunit hindi magtatagal ang kanilang kasamaan, sapagkat mahahayag sa lahat ang kanilang kahangalan, gaya ng nangyari kina Janes at Jambres.

10 Sinunod mong mabuti ang aking itinuro sa iyo, ang aking pamumuhay at layunin. Tinularan mo ang aking pananampalataya, pagtitiyaga, pag-ibig, at pagtitiis. 11 Nasaksihan (B) mo ang mga pag-uusig at pagdurusang dinanas ko sa Antioquia, Iconio, at Listra. Ganoon na lang ang mga pag-uusig na tiniis ko! Ngunit sa lahat ng ito ay iniligtas ako ng Panginoon. 12 Totoo ngang ang lahat ng ibig mabuhay bilang tagasunod ni Cristo Jesus ay daranas ng pag-uusig. 13 Samantalang ang masasama at mandaraya ay lalong magpapakasama; sila'y manlilinlang at malilinlang. 14 Ngunit ikaw, magpatuloy ka sa mga bagay na natutuhan mo at matibay mong pinaniwalaan, yamang kilala mo ang mga nagturo nito sa iyo. 15 Mula pa sa iyong pagkabata ay alam mo na ang Banal na Kasulatan, na nagbigay sa iyo ng karunungan upang matutuhan ang kaligtasang makakamit sa pamamagitan ng pananampalataya kay Cristo Jesus. 16 Ang lahat ng mga kasulatan ay ihininga ng Diyos at mapapakinabangan sa pagtuturo, sa pagsaway, pagtutuwid, at pagsasanay sa katuwiran, 17 upang ang lingkod ng Diyos ay maging karapat-dapat at lubusang maihanda sa lahat ng mabubuting gawa.

“Difficult Times Will Come”
3 But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]. 2 For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, 3 [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, 4 traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them. 6 For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate morally weak and spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily swayed by various impulses, 7 always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres [the court magicians of Egypt] opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, unqualified and worthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith.(A) 9 But they will not get very far, for their meaningless nonsense and ignorance will become obvious to everyone, as was that of Jannes and Jambres.
10 Now you have diligently followed [my example, that is] my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness, 11 persecutions, and sufferings—such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, but the Lord rescued me from them all!(B) 12 Indeed, all who delight in pursuing righteousness and are determined to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be hunted and persecuted [because of their faith]. 13 But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding tightly to the truths], knowing from whom you learned them, 15 and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness]. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.
