6 David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus; and the Arameans became servants who bore tribute to David. The Lord helped David wherever he went.
7 David took the shields of gold that were issued to the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 From Betah[a] and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took great quantities of bronze.

6 He put garrisons(A) in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject(B) to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.(C)
7 David took the gold shields(D) that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 From Tebah[a] and Berothai,(E) towns that belonged to Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.
