The Ark Is Brought to Jerusalem

6 (A)Then David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him [a]from [b](B)Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the (C)Name, the very name of Yahweh of hosts who (D)is [c]enthroned above the cherubim. 3 And they [d]drove the ark of God on (E)a new cart that they might bring it from the house of Abinadab which was on the hill; and [e]Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were leading the new cart. 4 So (F)they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Ahio was walking ahead of the ark. 5 Now David and all the house of Israel (G)were celebrating before Yahweh (H)with all kinds of instruments made of [f]fir wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

6 Then they came to the (I)threshing floor of Nacon. And [g]Uzzah (J)reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, because the oxen nearly upset it. 7 And the anger of Yahweh burned against Uzzah, and (K)God struck him down there for [h]his irreverence; and he died there by the ark of God. 8 And David became angry because [i]of Yahweh’s breaking out against Uzzah; and that place is called [j]Perez-uzzah to this day. 9 So (L)David was afraid of Yahweh that day; and he said, “How can the ark of Yahweh come to me?” 10 And David was unwilling to move the ark of Yahweh into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of (M)Obed-edom the Gittite. 11 Thus the ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months, and Yahweh (N)blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

12 Then it was told to King David, saying, “Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, on account of the ark of God.” So (O)David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into (P)the city of David with gladness. 13 And so it happened, that when those (Q)who were carrying the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an (R)ox and a fatling. 14 And (S)David was dancing before Yahweh with all his strength, and David was (T)girded with a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of Yahweh with shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

David Dances Before Yahweh

16 Then it happened as the ark of Yahweh came into the city of David, that (U)Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before Yahweh; and she despised him in her heart.

17 And they brought in the ark of Yahweh and placed it (V)in its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it; and (W)David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh. 18 Then David completed offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings. And (X)he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts. 19 And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and women, a cake of bread and one of dates and one of raisins to each one. Then all the people went each to his house.

20 But David returned to bless his household, and Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, “How the king of Israel has glorified himself today! (Y)He uncovered himself today in the eyes of his servants’ maids as one of the (Z)worthless ones shamelessly uncovers himself!” 21 So David said to Michal, “(AA)It was before Yahweh, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of Yahweh, over Israel; therefore I will celebrate before Yahweh. 22 And I will be esteemed even more lightly than this and will be humble in my own eyes, but with the maids of whom you have spoken, with them I will be glorified.” 23 And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

Узза и Ахио, сыновья Авинадава, везли новую повозку 4 с сундуком Всевышнего, и Ахио шёл перед сундуком. 5 Давуд и весь народ Исраила изо всех сил веселились перед Вечным, пели песни и играли на арфах, лирах, бубнах, трещотках и тарелках.

6 Когда они дошли до гумна Нахона, Узза протянул руку, чтобы поддержать сундук Всевышнего, потому что волы споткнулись. 7 И гнев Вечного воспылал против Уззы. Всевышний поразил его там за дерзновение, и Узза умер там же у сундука Всевышнего.

8 Давуд опечалился из-за того, что гнев Всевышнего прорвался на Уззу, и до сегодняшнего дня то место называется Фарец-Узза («прорыв на Уззу»).

9 В тот день Давуд устрашился Вечного и сказал:

– Как же можно принести ко мне сундук Вечного?

10 Он не хотел брать сундук Вечного к себе, в Город Давуда. Вместо этого он отвёз его в дом гатянина Овид-Эдома. 11 Сундук Вечного оставался в доме гатянина Овид-Эдома три месяца, и Вечный благословил его и всех его домашних.

12 Царю же Давуду сказали:

– Вечный благословил домашних Овид-Эдома и всё, что у него, из-за сундука Всевышнего.

Тогда Давуд пошёл и с радостью перенёс сундук Всевышнего из дома Овид-Эдома в Город Давуда. 13 Через каждые шесть шагов, которые делали несущие сундук Вечного, он приносил в жертву быка и упитанного телёнка. 14 Одетый в льняной ефод[d] Давуд изо всех сил плясал перед Вечным. 15 Так он и весь народ Исраила перенесли сундук Вечного с радостными криками под звуки рогов.

16 Когда сундук Вечного вносили в Город Давуда, Михаль, дочь Шаула, смотрела из окна. Увидев царя Давуда, который прыгал и плясал перед Вечным, она уничижила его в своём сердце.

17 А сундук Вечного принесли и поставили в шатре, который разбил для него Давуд. Давуд принёс Вечному жертвы всесожжения и жертвы примирения. 18 Закончив приносить жертвы всесожжения и жертвы примирения, он благословил народ во имя Вечного, Повелителя Сил. 19 Затем он раздал всему народу, всему множеству исраильтян – и мужчинам, и женщинам, – по одной лепёшке, по куску жареного мяса и по связке изюма. После этого весь народ разошёлся по своим домам.

20 Когда Давуд вернулся домой, чтобы благословить своих домашних, Михаль, дочь Шаула, вышла встретить его и сказала:

– Как отличился сегодня царь Исраила, обнажившись на глазах у рабынь своих рабов, словно какой-то непристойный человек!

21 Давуд сказал Михаль:

– Это было перед Вечным, Который предпочёл меня твоему отцу или кому-либо из его дома. Он поставил меня правителем над Исраилом, народом Вечного. Я и впредь буду веселиться перед Вечным. 22 Я стану ещё недостойнее и буду ещё ничтожнее в своих собственных глазах. Но те рабыни, о которых ты говорила, будут меня чтить.

23 И у Михаль, дочери Шаула, не было детей до конца жизни.

6 大卫召集了三万名以色列精兵， 2 率领他们到犹大的巴拉去接上帝的约柜。这约柜以坐在基路伯天使上面的万军之耶和华的名字命名。 3 他们把上帝的约柜从坐落在山上的亚比拿达家抬出来，放在一辆新造的牛车上，由亚比拿达的两个儿子乌撒和亚希约赶车， 4 亚希约走在约柜前面。 5 大卫和全体以色列人在耶和华面前用琴、瑟、鼓、钹和锣奏乐，尽情歌舞。 6 他们走到拿肯的麦场时，拉车的牛失蹄，乌撒便伸手去扶上帝的约柜。 7 耶和华上帝就向乌撒发怒，因他的不敬而击杀了他。他死在了约柜旁边。 8 大卫因耶和华击杀乌撒而烦恼，就称那地方为毗列斯·乌撒[a]，沿用至今。

9 那天，大卫惧怕耶和华，他说：“耶和华的约柜怎能运到我这里？” 10 他不愿把耶和华的约柜运进大卫城，而是把它运到迦特人俄别·以东家。 11 耶和华的约柜在俄别·以东家停放了三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别·以东和他全家。

12 大卫听说耶和华因为约柜而赐福给俄别·以东全家及其一切所有，就满心欢喜地去把上帝的约柜从俄别·以东家接进大卫城。 13 这一次，抬耶和华约柜的人走了六步，大卫就献上公牛和肥犊为祭。 14 大卫穿着细麻布的以弗得在耶和华面前尽情跳舞。 15 大卫和全体以色列人在欢呼声和号角声中把耶和华的约柜迎进大卫城。

16 耶和华的约柜进大卫城的时候，扫罗的女儿米甲从窗户看见大卫在耶和华面前又跳又舞，心里就轻视他。 17 他们把耶和华的约柜抬来，安放在大卫准备好的帐篷里。大卫在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭， 18 然后奉万军之耶和华的名给民众祝福， 19 还分给所有以色列人，不论男女，每人一个饼、一块肉和一个葡萄饼。众人就各自回家去了。

20 大卫回到家为自己的家人祝福，米甲出来迎接他，说：“今天以色列王好光彩呀！居然像个粗俗之人，在臣仆和婢女面前露体！” 21 大卫对她说：“我是在耶和华面前跳舞。祂不用你父亲和你父亲家里的人，而是选立我来治理祂的以色列子民，所以我要在祂面前欢庆。 22 我要让自己更卑微，自视低贱，但你说的那些婢女会尊重我。”

23 扫罗的女儿米甲终生都没有生育。

6 David again brought together all the able young men of Israel—thirty thousand. 2 He and all his men went to Baalah[a](C) in Judah to bring up from there the ark(D) of God, which is called by the Name,[b](E) the name of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned(F) between the cherubim(G) on the ark. 3 They set the ark of God on a new cart(H) and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill.(I) Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart 4 with the ark of God on it,[c] and Ahio was walking in front of it. 5 David and all Israel were celebrating(J) with all their might before the Lord, with castanets,[d] harps, lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals.(K)

6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of(L) the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act;(M) therefore God struck him down,(N) and he died there beside the ark of God.

8 Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath(O) had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.[e](P)

9 David was afraid of the Lord that day and said, “How(Q) can the ark of the Lord ever come to me?” 10 He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom(R) the Gittite. 11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.(S)

12 Now King David(T) was told, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. 13 When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed(U) a bull and a fattened calf. 14 Wearing a linen ephod,(V) David was dancing(W) before the Lord with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts(X) and the sound of trumpets.(Y)

16 As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David,(Z) Michal(AA) daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.

17 They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it,(AB) and David sacrificed burnt offerings(AC) and fellowship offerings before the Lord. 18 After he had finished sacrificing(AD) the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed(AE) the people in the name of the Lord Almighty. 19 Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins(AF) to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women.(AG) And all the people went to their homes.

20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked(AH) in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”

21 David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed(AI) me ruler(AJ) over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord. 22 I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.”

23 And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
