¹² It may be that the Lord will look upon my misery^(A) and restore to me his covenant blessing^(B) instead of his curse today.^(C)”

¹⁰ They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.^(A)

⁵ However, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse^(A) into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves^(B) you.

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good^(A) of those who love him, who^[a] have been called^(B) according to his purpose.^(C)

²⁴ God heard their groaning and he remembered^(A) his covenant^(B) with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. ²⁵ So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned^(C) about them.

¹¹ “Blessed are you when people insult you,^(A) persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.^{(B) 12} Rejoice and be glad,^(C) because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.^(D)

⁷ and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven^(A) in blazing fire^(B) with his powerful angels.^(C)

¹¹ And she made a vow,^(A) saying, “Lord Almighty^(B), if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember^(C) me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life,^(D) and no razor^(E) will ever be used on his head.”
