8 For if these things be among you and abound, they will make you so that you will neither be idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he who lacks these things is blind, and gropes for the way with his hands, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure. For if you do such things, you shall never err.

8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive(A) in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.(B) 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind,(C) forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.(D)
10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling(E) and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,(F)
