10 इसलिए, प्रियजन, अपनी बुलाहट तथा चुन लिए जाने को साबित करने के लिए भली-भांति प्रयास करते रहो. यदि तुम ऐसा करते रहोगे तो कभी भी मार्ग से न भटकोगे. 11 इस प्रकार हमारे प्रभु तथा उद्धारकर्ता मसीह येशु के अनन्त काल के राज्य में तुम्हारे प्रवेश पर तुम्हारा भव्य स्वागत होगा.

12 हालांकि तुम इन विषयों से अच्छी तरह से परिचित हो और उस सच्चाई में बने रहते हो तौभी मैं तुम्हें इन बातों की याद दिलाने के लिए हमेशा उत्सुक रहूँगा.

10 इसलिए हे भाइयो, यह दिखाने के लिए और अधिक तत्पर रहो कि तुम्हें वास्तव में परमेश्वर द्वारा बुलाया गया है और चुना गया है क्योंकि यदि तुम इन बातों को करते हो तो न कभी ठोकर खाओगे और न ही गिरोगे, 11 और इस प्रकार हमारे प्रभु एवम् उद्धारकर्ता यीशु मसीह के अनन्त राज्य में तुम्हें प्रवेश देकर परमेश्वर अपनी उदारता दिखायेगा।
12 इसी कारण मैं तुम्हें, यद्यपि तुम उन्हें जानते ही हो और जो सत्य तुम्हें मिला है, उस पर टिके भी हुए हो, इन बातों को सदा याद दिलाता रहूँगा।

10 Therefore, brethren, be diligent in providing a firm foundation for your call and election. If you do this, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a glorious welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.[a]
12 The Witness of an Apostle.[b] Therefore, I will continue to emphasize these things repeatedly, even though you already know them and are well grounded in the truth you possess.

- 2 Peter 1:11 Kingdom of . . . Christ: it is also the Kingdom of the Father (see Eph 5:5; 2 Tim 4:1; Rev 11:15).
- 2 Peter 1:12 The testimony of an Apostle has a greater value than any arbitrary Gnostic speculation.
To emphasize this point, the author presents his work as a testament of Peter, who reminds the readers that the Lord had told him of his proximate death (see Jn 21:18-19) and insists above all on the fact that he had been a witness of the Transfiguration (see Mt 17:1-13; Mk 9:2-13; Lk 9:28-36), an event that bore witness to the glory of Christ and thereby guaranteed his glorious Return, which was being challenged at this time.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling(A) and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,(B) 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom(C) of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.(D)

12 So I will always remind you of these things,(E) even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth(F) you now have.
