²⁹ So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life ^(A)he dined regularly at the king's table,

⁷ And David said to him, “Do not fear, ^(A)for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father, and ^(B)you shall eat at my table always.”

⁴² Then Pharaoh ^(A)took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and ^(B)clothed him in garments of fine linen ^(C)and put a gold chain about his neck.

²² But the father said to his servants,^[a] ‘Bring quickly ^(A)the best robe, and put it on him, and put ^(B)a ring on his hand, and ^(C)shoes on his feet.

⁴ And the angel said to ^(A)those who were standing before him, ^(B)“Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, ^(C)I have taken your iniquity away from you, and ^(D)I will clothe you with pure vestments.”

¹⁵ Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king ^(A)in royal robes of blue and white, with a great golden crown^[a] and ^(B)a robe of fine linen and purple, ^(C)and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced.

⁴ When Esther's young women and her eunuchs came and told her, the queen was deeply distressed. She sent garments to clothe Mordecai, so that he might take off his sackcloth, but he would not accept them.

^12 (A)and Jehoiachin the king of Judah gave himself up to the king of Babylon, himself and his mother and his servants and his officials and his palace officials. ^(B)The king of Babylon took him prisoner ^(C)in the eighth year of his reign
