^17 (A)And they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings^[a] and used ^(B)divination and ^(C)omens and ^(D)sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

^6 (A)And he burned his son as an offering^[a] and ^(B)used fortune-telling and ^(C)omens and dealt ^(D)with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

³ but he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. ^(A)He even burned his son as an offering,^{[a] (B)}according to the despicable practices of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone ^(A)who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,^[a] anyone who ^(B)practices divination or ^(C)tells fortunes or interprets omens, or ^(D)a sorcerer ¹¹ or a charmer or ^(E)a medium or a necromancer or ^(F)one who inquires of the dead, ^12 (G)for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And ^(H)because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

³⁷ For ^(A)they have committed adultery, ^(B)and blood is on their hands. With their idols they have committed adultery, and they have even ^(C)offered up^[a] to them for food the children whom they had borne to me.

²⁰ Ahab said to Elijah, ^(A)“Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because ^(B)you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord.

Ahab's Repentance

²⁵ (^(A)There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited.
