2 John
Worldwide English (New Testament)
1 From the leader of the church people. I send greetings to the lady whom God has chosen, and to her children. I love you all because you have the truth about Christ. I am not the only one who loves you. All those who know the truth, love you also.
2 We love you because of the truth we share which is in our hearts and will be with us for ever.
3 God the Father and Jesus Christ, the Father's son, will bless us. They will be kind to us. They will give us peace. They will do these things because they are true, and they love us.
4 I was very glad to find that some of your children are living in the right way. They are living the way the Father told us to live.
5 And now I want to ask you to do something. I am not telling you to do something new. It is the same law we had from the beginning. It is this, `We must love one another.'
6 We love God when we live the way God has told us. This is the law you heard from the beginning. You must live by it.
7 Many men who fool people have gone out into the world. They believe that Jesus Christ did not come to live as a man with a body. These men belong to the one who fools people. He is against Christ.
8 Watch out for yourselves! Do not lose what you have worked for, but receive all the reward that you should have.
9 Everyone who goes too far, and does not believe what Christ taught, does not believe God. Anyone who believes what Christ taught, believes both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you who does not teach what Christ taught, do not take him into your house. Do not even greet him.
11 Anyone who greets him helps him in the wrong things he does.
12 I have much to write to you. But I do not want to write it on paper. I hope to come to visit you and talk with you. Then we will be very happy.
13 The children of your sister whom God has chosen send their greetings.

1 El anciano(A) a la señora(B) escogida[a](C) y a sus hijos, a quienes amo en verdad(D), y no solo yo, sino también todos los que conocen la verdad(E), 2 a causa de la verdad(F) que permanece en nosotros(G) y que estará con nosotros para siempre(H): 3 Gracia, misericordia y paz serán con nosotros(I), de Dios Padre y de Jesucristo, Hijo del Padre, en verdad y amor.
Exhortaciones
4 Mucho me alegré al encontrar algunos de tus hijos andando en la verdad(J), tal como hemos recibido mandamiento del Padre. 5 Y ahora te ruego, señora, no como escribiéndote un nuevo mandamiento(K), sino el que hemos tenido desde el principio(L), que nos amemos unos a otros(M). 6 Y este es el amor[b](N): que andemos conforme a sus mandamientos. Este es el mandamiento tal como lo habéis oído(O) desde el principio(P), para que andéis en él. 7 Pues muchos engañadores(Q) han salido al mundo(R) que no confiesan que Jesucristo ha venido[c] en carne(S). Ese es el engañador(T) y el anticristo(U). 8 Tened cuidado(V) para que no perdáis lo que hemos[d] logrado(W), sino que recibáis abundante recompensa. 9 Todo el que se desvía y no permanece en la enseñanza[e] de Cristo(X), no tiene a Dios; el que permanece en la enseñanza[f] tiene tanto al Padre como al Hijo. 10 Si alguno viene a vosotros y no trae esta enseñanza[g], no lo recibáis en casa(Y), ni lo saludéis, 11 pues el que lo saluda participa en sus malas obras(Z).
Despedida
12 Aunque tengo muchas cosas que escribiros(AA), no quiero hacerlo con papel y tinta, sino que espero ir a vosotros y hablar cara a cara [h], para que vuestro[i] gozo sea completo(AB). 13 Te saludan los hijos de tu hermana escogida[j](AC).

1 ο πρεσβυτερος εκλεκτη κυρια και τοις τεκνοις αυτης ους εγω αγαπω εν αληθεια και ουκ εγω μονος αλλα και παντες οι εγνωκοτες την αληθειαν
2 δια την αληθειαν την μενουσαν εν ημιν και μεθ ημων εσται εις τον αιωνα
3 εσται μεθ ημων χαρις ελεος ειρηνη παρα θεου πατρος και παρα ιησου χριστου του υιου του πατρος εν αληθεια και αγαπη
4 εχαρην λιαν οτι ευρηκα εκ των τεκνων σου περιπατουντας εν αληθεια καθως εντολην ελαβομεν παρα του πατρος
5 και νυν ερωτω σε κυρια ουχ ως εντολην γραφων σοι καινην αλλα ην ειχομεν απ αρχης ινα αγαπωμεν αλληλους
6 και αυτη εστιν η αγαπη ινα περιπατωμεν κατα τας εντολας αυτου αυτη η εντολη εστιν καθως ηκουσατε απ αρχης ινα εν αυτη περιπατητε
7 οτι πολλοι πλανοι εξηλθον εις τον κοσμον οι μη ομολογουντες ιησουν χριστον ερχομενον εν σαρκι ουτος εστιν ο πλανος και ο αντιχριστος
8 βλεπετε εαυτους ινα μη απολεσητε α ειργασαμεθα αλλα μισθον πληρη απολαβητε
9 πας ο προαγων και μη μενων εν τη διδαχη του χριστου θεον ουκ εχει ο μενων εν τη διδαχη ουτος και τον πατερα και τον υιον εχει
10 ει τις ερχεται προς υμας και ταυτην την διδαχην ου φερει μη λαμβανετε αυτον εις οικιαν και χαιρειν αυτω μη λεγετε
11 ο λεγων γαρ αυτω χαιρειν κοινωνει τοις εργοις αυτου τοις πονηροις
12 πολλα εχων υμιν γραφειν ουκ εβουληθην δια χαρτου και μελανος αλλα ελπιζω γενεσθαι προς υμας και στομα προς στομα λαλησαι ινα η χαρα υμων πεπληρωμενη η
13 ασπαζεται σε τα τεκνα της αδελφης σου της εκλεκτης
