¹⁴ And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.

¹⁴ The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly,^(A) along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.^(B)

Closing Appeal for Steadfastness and Unity

4 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for,^(A) my joy and crown, stand firm^(B) in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

⁶ So we urged^(A) Titus,^(B) just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion^(C) this act of grace on your part. ⁷ But since you excel in everything^(D)—in faith, in speech, in knowledge,^(E) in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you^[a]—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

¹⁶ May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus,^(A) because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed^(B) of my chains.^{(C) 17} On the contrary, when he was in Rome, he searched hard for me until he found me. ¹⁸ May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day!^(D) You know very well in how many ways he helped me^(E) in Ephesus.^(F)

¹⁸ I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus^(A) the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant^(B) offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. ¹⁹ And my God will meet all your needs^(C) according to the riches of his glory^(D) in Christ Jesus.

⁸ God can testify^(A) how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

8 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian^(A) churches.

²⁶ For he longs for all of you^(A) and is distressed because you heard he was ill.
