⁷ In the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, ^(A)to teach in the cities of Judah;

³ And he said to the Levites ^(A)who taught all Israel and who were holy to the Lord, “Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built. You need not carry it on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel.

^3 (A)For a long time Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest and without law,

Fear God and Keep His Commandments

⁹ Besides being wise, ^(A)the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging ^(B)many proverbs with great care. ^10 (C)The Preacher sought to find words of delight, and uprightly he wrote words of truth.

^7 (A)Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites,^{[a] (B)}helped the people to understand the Law, ^(C)while the people remained in their places. ⁸ They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly,^[b] and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

1 In the first book, O ^(A)Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began ^(B)to do and teach,

⁴³ but he said to them, ^(A)“I must ^(B)preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.” ⁴⁴ And he was preaching ^(C)in the synagogues of Judea.^[a]

^23 (A)And he went throughout all Galilee, ^(B)teaching in their synagogues and ^(C)proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and ^(D)healing every disease and every affliction among the people.
