8 Now therefore thus you shall say to my servant David: Thus says the Lord of hosts: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep to be prince over my people Israel,(A) 9 and I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the earth.(B) 10 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, so that they may live in their own place and be disturbed no more, and evildoers shall afflict them no more, as formerly,(C) 11 from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel, and I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover, the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house.(D)

8 “Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock,(A) and appointed you ruler(B) over my people Israel.(C) 9 I have been with you wherever you have gone,(D) and I have cut off all your enemies from before you.(E) Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.(F) 10 And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant(G) them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed.(H) Wicked(I) people will not oppress them anymore,(J) as they did at the beginning 11 and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders[a](K) over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies.(L)

11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
