¹² Then it was told to King David, saying, “Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, on account of the ark of God.” So ^(A)David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into ^(B)the city of David with gladness. ¹³ And so it happened, that when those ^(C)who were carrying the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ^(D)ox and a fatling. ¹⁴ And ^(E)David was dancing before Yahweh with all his strength, and David was ^(F)girded with a linen ephod. ¹⁵ So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of Yahweh with shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

^25 (A)So it was David, with the elders of Israel and the commanders over thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from ^(B)the house of Obed-edom with gladness. ²⁶ Now this happened because God was helping the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of Yahweh. And they sacrificed ^(C)seven bulls and seven rams. ²⁷ Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, as well as the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the singing with the singers. ^(D)David also wore a linen ephod. ²⁸ Thus all Israel was bringing up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with shouting, and with sound of the ^[a]horn, with trumpets, with loud-sounding cymbals, with harps, and lyres.

⁴ However, David had brought up ^(A)the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim ^[a]to ^(B)the place he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
