19 Josiah also removed all the shrines on the high places in the cities of Samaria. The kings of Israel had made them and angered the Lord.[a] He did to them what he had done to the high place in Bethel.[b] 20 He sacrificed all the priests of the high places on the altars located there, and burned human bones on them. Then he returned to Jerusalem.

21 The king ordered all the people, “Observe the Passover of the Lord your God, as prescribed in this scroll of the covenant.”

19 Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger. 20 Josiah slaughtered(A) all the priests of those high places on the altars and burned human bones(B) on them. Then he went back to Jerusalem.

21 The king gave this order to all the people: “Celebrate the Passover(C) to the Lord your God, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant.”(D)
