Death of Elisha

¹⁴ Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, ^(A)the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”

¹² And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, ^(A)“My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.

^26 (A)since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

³ Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

20 In ^(B)those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live.’ ”
