Ac ymhen yr ugain mlynedd, yn y rhai yr adeiladodd Solomon dŷ yr Arglwydd, a’i dŷ ei hun, Solomon a adeiladodd y dinasoedd a roddasai Hiram i Solomon, ac a wnaeth i feibion Israel drigo yno. A Solomon a aeth i Hamath-soba, ac a’i gorchfygodd hi. Ac efe a adeiladodd Tadmor yn yr anialwch, a holl ddinasoedd y trysorau, y rhai a adeiladodd efe yn Hamath. Efe hefyd a adeiladodd Beth-horon uchaf, a Beth-horon isaf, dinasoedd wedi eu cadarnhau â muriau, pyrth, a barrau; Baalath hefyd, a holl ddinasoedd y trysorau oedd gan Solomon, a holl ddinasoedd y cerbydau, a dinasoedd y marchogion, a’r hyn oll oedd ewyllys gan Solomon ei adeiladu yn Jerwsalem, ac yn Libanus, ac yn holl dir ei arglwyddiaeth ef.

Yr holl bobl y rhai a adawyd o’r Hethiaid, a’r Amoriaid, a’r Pheresiaid, a’r Hefiaid, a’r Jebusiaid, y rhai nid oeddynt o Israel; Ond o’u meibion hwynt, y rhai a drigasant ar eu hôl hwynt yn y wlad, y rhai ni ddifethasai meibion Israel, Solomon a’u gwnaeth hwynt yn drethol hyd y dydd hwn. Ond o feibion Israel ni roddodd Solomon neb yn weision yn ei waith: canys hwynt-hwy oeddynt ryfelwyr, a thywysogion ei gapteiniaid ef, a thywysogion ei gerbydau a’i wŷr meirch ef. 10 A dyma y rhai pennaf o swyddogion y brenin Solomon, sef dau cant a deg a deugain, yn arglwyddiaethu ar y bobl.

11 A Solomon a ddug ferch Pharo i fyny o ddinas Dafydd i’r tŷ a adeiladasai efe iddi hi: canys efe a ddywedodd, Ni thrig fy ngwraig i yn nhŷ Dafydd brenin Israel, oherwydd sanctaidd yw, oblegid i arch yr Arglwydd ddyfod i mewn iddo.

12 Yna Solomon a offrymodd boethoffrymau i’r Arglwydd ar allor yr Arglwydd, yr hon a adeiladasai efe o flaen y porth; 13 I boethoffrymu dogn dydd yn ei ddydd, yn ôl gorchymyn Moses, ar y Sabothau, ac ar y newyddloerau, ac ar y gwyliau arbennig, dair gwaith yn y flwyddyn; sef ar ŵyl y bara croyw, ac ar ŵyl yr wythnosau, ac ar ŵyl y pebyll.

14 Ac efe a osododd, yn ôl trefn Dafydd ei dad, ddosbarthiadau yr offeiriaid yn eu gwasanaeth, a’r Lefiaid yn eu goruchwyliaeth, i foliannu ac i weini gerbron yr offeiriaid, fel yr oedd ddyledus bob dydd yn ei ddydd, a’r porthorion yn eu dosbarthiadau, wrth bob porth: canys felly yr oedd gorchymyn Dafydd gŵr Duw. 15 Ac ni throesant hwy oddi wrth orchymyn y brenin i’r offeiriaid a’r Lefiaid, am un peth, nac am y trysorau. 16 A holl waith Solomon oedd wedi ei baratoi hyd y dydd y seiliwyd tŷ yr Arglwydd, a hyd oni orffennwyd ef. Felly y gorffennwyd tŷ yr Arglwydd.

17 Yna yr aeth Solomon i Esion-gaber, ac i Eloth, ar fin y môr, yng ngwlad Edom. 18 A Hiram a anfonodd gyda’i weision longau, a gweision cyfarwydd ar y môr; a hwy a aethant gyda gweision Solomon i Offir, ac a gymerasant oddi yno bedwar cant a deg a deugain talent o aur, ac a’u dygasant i’r brenin Solomon.

Solomon’s Other Activities(A)

At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the Lord and his own palace,(B) Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram[a] had given him, and settled Israelites in them. Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it. He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.(C) He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon(D) and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars, as well as Baalath(E) and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horses[b]—whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.

There were still people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites(F) (these people were not Israelites). Solomon conscripted(G) the descendants of all these people remaining in the land—whom the Israelites had not destroyed—to serve as slave labor, as it is to this day. But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers. 10 They were also King Solomon’s chief officials—two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.

11 Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter(H) up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the Lord has entered are holy.”

12 On the altar(I) of the Lord that he had built in front of the portico, Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the Lord, 13 according to the daily requirement(J) for offerings commanded by Moses for the Sabbaths,(K) the New Moons(L) and the three(M) annual festivals—the Festival of Unleavened Bread,(N) the Festival of Weeks(O) and the Festival of Tabernacles.(P) 14 In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions(Q) of the priests for their duties, and the Levites(R) to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day’s requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers(S) by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God(T) had ordered.(U) 15 They did not deviate from the king’s commands to the priests or to the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.

16 All Solomon’s work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid until its completion. So the temple of the Lord was finished.

17 Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the coast of Edom. 18 And Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own men, sailors who knew the sea. These, with Solomon’s men, sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred and fifty talents[c] of gold,(V) which they delivered to King Solomon.
