1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
New International Version
14 For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators(A) of God’s churches in Judea,(B) which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own people(C) the same things those churches suffered from the Jews 15 who killed the Lord Jesus(D) and the prophets(E) and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone 16 in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles(F) so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit.(G) The wrath of God has come upon them at last.[a]

1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
Easy-to-Read Version
14 Brothers and sisters, you are just like God’s churches in Judea.[a] I mean that you were treated badly by your own people, just as those believers in Christ Jesus were treated badly by other Jews— 15 the same Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets. And they forced us to leave their country. They are not pleasing to God, and they are against everyone else. 16 And they are trying to stop us from teaching those who are not Jews. They don’t want them to be saved. But they are just adding more and more sins to the ones they already have. Now the time has come for them to suffer God’s anger.

1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
Living Bible
14 And then, dear brothers, you suffered what the churches in Judea did, persecution from your own countrymen, just as they suffered from their own people, the Jews. 15 After they had killed their own prophets, they even executed the Lord Jesus; and now they have brutally persecuted us and driven us out. They are against both God and man, 16 trying to keep us from preaching to the Gentiles for fear some might be saved; and so their sins continue to grow. But the anger of God has caught up with them at last.

14 For you, brethren, became imitators (A)of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For (B)you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, 15 (C)who killed both the Lord Jesus and (D)their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God (E)and are [a]contrary to all men, 16 (F)forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always (G)to fill up the measure of their sins; (H)but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.
