1 Peter 2:6-8

⁶For this is contained in ^[a]Scripture:

“^(A)Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a ^(B)precious corner stone,
And he who believes upon ^[b]Him will not be put to shame.”

⁷^(C)This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve,

“^(D)The stone which the builders ^(E)rejected,
This became the chief corner stone,”

⁸and,

“^(F)A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.”

^(G)They stumble because they are disobedient to the word, ^(H)and to this stumbling they were also appointed.

⁶For it stands in Scripture:

^(A)“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
a cornerstone chosen and precious,
^(B)and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

⁷So the honor is for you who ^(C)believe, but for those who ^(D)do not believe,

^(E)“The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”^[a]

⁸and

^(F)“A stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offense.”

They stumble because they disobey the word, ^(G)as they were destined to do.
