¹⁶ Therefore thus says Lord Yahweh,

³² Why? Because they did not pursue it ^[a]by faith, but as though it were ^[b]by works. They stumbled over ^(A)the stumbling stone,

³³ just as it is written,

¹¹ For the Scripture says, “^(A)Whoever believes upon Him will not be put to shame.”

⁸ and,

^(B)They stumble because they are disobedient to the word, ^(C)and to this stumbling they were also appointed.
