I wrote you in my letter (A)not to associate with sexually immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the greedy and swindlers, or with (B)idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But now I am writing to you not to associate [a]with any so-called (C)brother if he is a sexually immoral person, or greedy, or (D)an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging (E)outsiders? (F)Are you not to judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God will judge. (G)Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.

In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you to stop associating with any so-called brother if he is sexually immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunk, or a robber. You must even stop eating with someone like that. 12 After all, is it my business to judge outsiders? You are to judge those who are in the community, aren’t you? 13 God will judge outsiders. “Expel that wicked man.”[a]
