1 Corinthians 7:7-9 Wycliffe Bible (WYC)

For I will, that all men be as myself. But each man hath his proper gift of God; one thus, and another thus.

But I say to them, that be not wedded, and to widows [and widows], it is good to them, if they dwell so as I.

And if they contain not themselves, be they wedded; for it is better to be wedded, than to be burnt.

1 Corinthians 7:7-9 New Matthew Bible (NMB)

For I would that all men were as I myself am. But every one has his own gift from God – one of this kind, another of that. I say to the unmarried men and widows that it is good for them if they remain just as I do. But if they cannot abstain, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn.

1 Corinthians 7:7-9 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
