神の箱の前での奉仕
16 こうして神の箱は、ダビデがあらかじめ用意しておいた幕屋に運び込まれました。イスラエルの指導者たちは、神の前に、焼き尽くすいけにえと和解のいけにえをささげました。 2 いけにえをささげ終わると、ダビデは主の名によって民を祝福し、 3 集まっていた全員にパンとぶどう酒と干しぶどうの菓子を配りました。
4 また、レビ人の中から、契約の箱の前で仕える者を選び、イスラエルの神、主を絶えず覚えて感謝し、ほめたたえ、そして民への祝福を祈り求めるようにさせました。この務めに任じられたのは次の人々です。 5 かしらはアサフで、彼はシンバルを鳴らし、彼の同僚には、ゼカリヤ、エイエル、シェミラモテ、エヒエル、マティテヤ、エリアブ、ベナヤ、オベデ・エドム、エイエルがいて、みな十弦の琴と竪琴を弾きました。 6 祭司のベナヤとヤハジエルは、契約の箱の前で決まった時間にラッパを吹き鳴らしました。

「さあ、主に感謝し、主に祈れ。
世界の人々に、偉大なみわざを伝えよ。
9 主をたたえ、そのすばらしいみわざを告げ知らせよ。
10 主の聖なる名を誇れ。
主を慕い求める者すべてを喜ばせよ。
11 主とその御力とを尋ね求めよ。
絶えず御顔を慕い求めよ。
12-13 主のしもべアブラハムの子孫よ。
主に選ばれたヤコブの子らよ。
偉大なみわざと、驚くべき奇跡と御力とを思い起こせ。
14 このお方こそ、私たちの神、主！
その御力は全世界にわたる。
15 主の契約を、いつまでも忘れるな。
そのことばは千代にも及ぶ。
16 主はアブラハムと契約を結び、
イサクに誓いを立て、
17 ヤコブにも確証して、
イスラエルへの永遠の契約とされた。
18 『あなたがたの相続地として
カナンの地を与える。』
19 その時、イスラエルの数はごくわずかで、
しかも、約束の地では外国人であった。
20 彼らは、国から国へと渡り歩いた。
21 神はだれにも手を出すことを許さず、
彼らを害する者は、たとえ王でも殺された。
22 『わたしが選んだ民を害するな。
わたしの預言者だから、ふれてはいけない。』
23 全地よ、主に歌え。
日ごと、主が救い主であることを宣べ伝えよ。
24 主の栄光を国々に知らせ、
すばらしいみわざを、すべての人に語り告げよ。
25 主は偉大で、高らかにほめたたえられるべきお方、
すべての神々にまさって恐れられるべきお方。
26 他国で、神々と呼ばれるものはみな悪霊で
主こそが天をお造りになった。
27 尊厳と栄誉は御前にあり、
力と歓喜はみそばにある。
28 国々の民よ、
主の大いなる力と栄光とをたたえよ。
29 御名にふさわしく、ほめたたえよ。
ささげ物を携えて、御前に出よ。
聖なる衣を着けて、主を礼拝せよ。
30 全地よ、主の御前におののけ。
世界はびくとも動じない。
31 天は喜び、地は楽しめ。
諸国の民は言え。『主が王である』と。
32 大海は鳴りとどろけ。
野とその中にあるものは喜び躍れ。
33 森の木々も、主の御前で喜び歌え。
主が地をさばきに来られるからだ。
34 主に感謝せよ。
その恵みは深く、愛といつくしみは限りない。
35 主に叫べ。
『私たちの救いの神よ、どうかお救いください。
私たちを国々から呼び集め、
安全に救い出してください。
そうすれば、あなたのきよい御名に感謝し、
声の限りほめたたえます。』
36 イスラエルの神は、永遠にほむべきかな。」
この歌にすべての民は「アーメン」と和し、主をほめたたえました。
37 ダビデは、レビ人のアサフと同僚たちを幕屋で仕えさせ、毎日の日課として決められたことを規則正しく行わせました。 38 この中には、エドトンの子オベデ・エドム、ホサ、同じ門衛の六十八人がいました。

Ministering Before the Ark(A)(B)(C)
16 They brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched(D) for it, and they presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before God. 2 After David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed(E) the people in the name of the Lord. 3 Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins(F) to each Israelite man and woman.
4 He appointed some of the Levites to minister(G) before the ark of the Lord, to extol,[a] thank, and praise the Lord, the God of Israel: 5 Asaph was the chief, and next to him in rank were Zechariah, then Jaaziel,[b] Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom and Jeiel. They were to play the lyres and harps, Asaph was to sound the cymbals, 6 and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow the trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise(H) to the Lord in this manner:
8 Give praise(I) to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations(J) what he has done.
9 Sing to him, sing praise(K) to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
10 Glory in his holy name;(L)
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
11 Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek(M) his face always.
12 Remember(N) the wonders(O) he has done,
his miracles,(P) and the judgments he pronounced,
13 you his servants, the descendants of Israel,
his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
14 He is the Lord our God;
his judgments(Q) are in all the earth.
15 He remembers[c](R) his covenant forever,
the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
16 the covenant(S) he made with Abraham,
the oath he swore to Isaac.
17 He confirmed it to Jacob(T) as a decree,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
18 “To you I will give the land of Canaan(U)
as the portion you will inherit.”
19 When they were but few in number,(V)
few indeed, and strangers in it,
20 they[d] wandered(W) from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another.
21 He allowed no one to oppress them;
for their sake he rebuked kings:(X)
22 “Do not touch my anointed ones;
do my prophets(Y) no harm.”
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
24 Declare his glory(Z) among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
25 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;(AA)
he is to be feared(AB) above all gods.(AC)
26 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.(AD)
27 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and joy are in his dwelling place.
28 Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.(AE)
29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;(AF)
bring an offering and come before him.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his[e] holiness.(AG)
30 Tremble(AH) before him, all the earth!
The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.(AI)
31 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;(AJ)
let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!(AK)”
32 Let the sea resound, and all that is in it;(AL)
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
33 Let the trees(AM) of the forest sing,
let them sing for joy before the Lord,
for he comes to judge(AN) the earth.
34 Give thanks(AO) to the Lord, for he is good;(AP)
his love endures forever.(AQ)
35 Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;(AR)
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
and glory in your praise.”
36 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,(AS)
from everlasting to everlasting.
Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”
37 David left Asaph and his associates before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister there regularly, according to each day’s requirements.(AT) 38 He also left Obed-Edom(AU) and his sixty-eight associates to minister with them. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah,(AV) were gatekeepers.
39 David left Zadok(AW) the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the Lord at the high place in Gibeon(AX) 40 to present burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly, morning and evening, in accordance with everything written in the Law(AY) of the Lord, which he had given Israel. 41 With them were Heman(AZ) and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the Lord, “for his love endures forever.” 42 Heman and Jeduthun were responsible for the sounding of the trumpets and cymbals and for the playing of the other instruments for sacred song.(BA) The sons of Jeduthun(BB) were stationed at the gate.
43 Then all the people left, each for their own home, and David returned home to bless his family.

106 ハレルヤ。
主の恵み深さを感謝します。
その愛は、いつまでも変わることがありません。
2 栄光に輝く主の奇跡を、
一つ残らず書き留めることのできる人が
いるでしょうか。
だれが、あなたを十分に賛美し尽くせましょう。
3 公平と正義と思いやりとを身につけている人々には、
幸福が訪れます。
4 ああ主よ。
あなたの民に祝福と救いを注がれるとき、
私にも目を留めてください。
5 この身をも、選ばれた民の繁栄にあずからせ、
彼らと同じ喜びに浸り、
ご栄光を共に味わわせてください。
6 私たちも先祖と同じように、
はなはだしく悪の道にそれました。
7 私たちの先祖はエジプトで、
あれほどの奇跡を目撃しながら、感動することもなく、
たちまち数々の恵みを忘れてしまいました。
それどころか、紅海のほとりで、
神に逆らったのです。
8 しかし、そんな人々をも、主はお救いになりました。
それは、ご自身の名誉を守り、
お力を全世界に知らせるためでした。

13 しかし、たちまち元に戻ってしまったのです。
彼らは神を無視して行動し、
14 もっとおいしいものを食べたいと注文をつけました。
こうして、もはや赦しを頂くことができない時点まで、
神の忍耐を試したのです。
15 主は欲しがるものをお与えになりましたが、
彼らの心を空虚になさいました。
16 人々は、モーセと、主が祭司に任命したアロンを
ねたんだのです。
17 そのため、大地は口をあけてダタンとアビラムと、
アビラムの友人たちをのみ込みました。
18 しかも、天から降って来た火は、
悪者どもを焼き尽くしたのです。
19-20 それは、彼らが栄光に輝く神より、
草を食べる牛の像を選んだことへの罰でした。
21-22 エジプトと紅海のほとりで
大きな奇跡をなさった神の顔に、

23 神は、

29 こうして、神の怒りは極限に達し、
恐ろしい災いが下りました。
30 ピネハスが、災いを引き起こした張本人たちを
処刑すると、神の罰は収まりました。
31 このピネハスの適切な処置は歴史に残ることでしょう。
32 イスラエルはメリバでも主を怒らせ、
モーセを窮地に追い込みました。
33 そのため怒りに燃えたモーセは、
思わず軽率なことを口にしてしまったのです。
34 イスラエルの民は、主の命令に逆らい、
カナンに住む外国人を滅ぼさなかったばかりか、
35 いっしょになって悪の道に励みました。
36 その地の偶像にいけにえをささげ、
神には目もくれませんでした。
37-38 彼らは、
わが子をカナンの偶像の悪霊にささげることまで行い、

39 偶像を愛することは、
神の目から見れば姦淫の罪であり、
自分自身を汚すことになりました。
40 主の怒りは激しく燃え上がり、
神は彼らを嫌悪なさいました。
41-42 そのためイスラエルは、
外国人に踏みにじられるようになったのです。
彼らは敵に支配され、抑圧されました。
43 主はそのような奴隷状態から、
彼らを何度お救いくださったことでしょう。
しかし人々は、反抗的な態度を続け、
自らの罪ゆえに自滅していったのです。
44 それでもなお、主はその叫びを聞き、
その苦境を思いやってくださいました。
45 愛の主は、以前の約束を思い出してあわれみ、
46 敵でさえ、捕虜となったイスラエル人を
あわれむように配慮してくださいました。
47 ああ神である主よ、お救いください。
各地に散らされた人々を再び集めてください。

2 Who can proclaim the mighty acts(E) of the Lord
or fully declare his praise?
3 Blessed are those who act justly,(F)
who always do what is right.(G)
4 Remember me,(H) Lord, when you show favor(I) to your people,
come to my aid(J) when you save them,
5 that I may enjoy the prosperity(K) of your chosen ones,(L)
that I may share in the joy(M) of your nation
and join your inheritance(N) in giving praise.
6 We have sinned,(O) even as our ancestors(P) did;
we have done wrong and acted wickedly.(Q)
7 When our ancestors were in Egypt,
they gave no thought(R) to your miracles;
they did not remember(S) your many kindnesses,
and they rebelled by the sea,(T) the Red Sea.[b]
8 Yet he saved them(U) for his name’s sake,(V)
to make his mighty power(W) known.
9 He rebuked(X) the Red Sea, and it dried up;(Y)
he led them through(Z) the depths as through a desert.
10 He saved them(AA) from the hand of the foe;(AB)
from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.(AC)

12 Then they believed his promises

16 In the camp they grew envious(AM) of Moses
and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the Lord.

a flame consumed the wicked.
19 At Horeb they made a calf(AR)
and worshiped an idol cast from metal.

who had done great things(AU) in Egypt,
22 miracles in the land of Ham(AV)
and awesome deeds(AW) by the Red Sea.
23 So he said he would destroy(AX) them—
had not Moses, his chosen one,
stood in the breach(AY) before him
to keep his wrath from destroying them.
24 Then they despised(AZ) the pleasant land;(BA)
they did not believe(BB) his promise.
25 They grumbled(BC) in their tents
and did not obey the Lord.
26 So he swore(BD) to them with uplifted hand
that he would make them fall in the wilderness,(BE)
27 make their descendants fall among the nations
and scatter(BF) them throughout the lands.
28 They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor(BG)
and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods;
29 they aroused the Lord’s anger(BH) by their wicked deeds,(BI)
and a plague(BJ) broke out among them.
30 But Phinehas(BK) stood up and intervened,
and the plague was checked.(BL)
31 This was credited to him(BM) as righteousness
for endless generations(BN) to come.
32 By the waters of Meribah(BO) they angered the Lord,
and trouble came to Moses because of them;
33 for they rebelled(BP) against the Spirit(BQ) of God,
and rash words came from Moses’ lips.[c](BR)
34 They did not destroy(BS) the peoples
as the Lord had commanded(BT) them,
35 but they mingled(BU) with the nations
and adopted their customs.
36 They worshiped their idols,(BV)
which became a snare(BW) to them.
37 They sacrificed their sons(BX)
and their daughters to false gods.(BY)
38 They shed innocent blood,
the blood of their sons(BZ) and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was desecrated by their blood.
39 They defiled themselves(CA) by what they did;
by their deeds they prostituted(CB) themselves.
40 Therefore the Lord was angry(CC) with his people
and abhorred his inheritance.(CD)
41 He gave them into the hands(CE) of the nations,
and their foes ruled over them.
42 Their enemies oppressed(CF) them
and subjected them to their power.
43 Many times he delivered them,(CG)
but they were bent on rebellion(CH)
and they wasted away in their sin.
44 Yet he took note of their distress
when he heard their cry;(CI)
45 for their sake he remembered his covenant(CJ)
and out of his great love(CK) he relented.(CL)
46 He caused all who held them captive
to show them mercy.(CM)
47 Save us,(CN) Lord our God,
and gather us(CO) from the nations,
that we may give thanks(CP) to your holy name(CQ)
and glory in your praise.
48 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Let all the people say, “Amen!”(CR)
Praise the Lord.

19 これらのことを話し終えると、イエスはガリラヤを去り、ヨルダン川を渡って、ユダヤ地方に向かわれました。 2 すると、大ぜいの人があとを追って来たので、そこで病人を治されました。
結婚と離婚
3 イエスを試み、陥れようと、何人かのパリサイ人がやって来ました。そして、「あなたは離婚をお認めになりますか」と尋ねました。
4-6 「聖書を読んだことがないのですか。聖書には、神が初めに男と女を造られたので、人は両親から離れて永遠に妻と結ばれ、二人の者は一体となる、と書いてあるではないですか。彼らはもう二人ではなく、一人なのです。ですから、神が結び合わせたものを、だれも離すことはできません。」
7 「でも、モーセは、離縁状を渡しさえすれば、妻と別れてもよいと言いました。」なおも食い下がる彼らに、 8 イエスは答えて言われました。「モーセがそう言ったのは、あなたがたの心が強情なのを知っていたからです。しかしそれは、神がもともと望んでおられたことではありません。 9 言っておきますが、不倫以外の理由で妻を離縁し、ほかの女性と結婚する者は、姦淫の罪を犯すのです。」
10 「それなら、結婚しないほうがましです。」弟子たちがイエスに言いました。
11 「そうは言っても、それは、だれにでもできることではありません。ただ、それを許された者だけができるのです。 12 結婚しないように生まれついた人もいますし、人の手で結婚できないようにされた人もいます。またある人は、天国のために、自分から進んで独身を通します。わたしの言ったことを受け入れることのできる人は、受け入れなさい。」
13 その時、イエスに手を置いて祈っていただこうと、人々が小さい子どもたちを連れて来ました。ところが弟子たちは、「先生のおじゃまだ」としかりました。
14 しかし、イエスはそれをとどめて、「子どもたちを自由に来させなさい。止めてはいけません。天国は、この子たちのような者の国なのですから」と言われました。 15 そして、子どもたちの頭に手を置いて祝福し、そこを去って行かれました。
天国に入るには？
16 一人の青年がイエスのところに来て、こう質問しました。「先生。永遠のいのちがほしいのですが、どんな良いことをしたら、もらえるでしょうか。」
17 「良いことについて、なぜわたしに尋ねるのですか。ほんとうに良い方は、ただ神おひとりなのです。しかし、質問に答えてあげましょう。天国に入るには、神の戒め（おきて）を守ればいいのです。」
18 「どの戒めでしょうか。」「殺してはならない、姦淫してはならない、盗んではならない、うそをついてはならない、 19 あなたの父や母を敬いなさい、隣人を自分と同じように愛しなさい、という戒めです。」
20 「それなら、全部守っています。ほかに何が欠けているでしょうか？」
21 「完全な者になりたければ、家に帰って、財産を全部売り払い、そのお金を貧しい人たちに分けてあげなさい。天に宝をたくわえるのです。それから、わたしについて来なさい。」 22 青年はこれを聞くと、悲しそうに帰って行きました。たいへんな金持ちだったからです。
23 イエスは、弟子たちに言われました。「金持ちが天国に入るのは、なんとむずかしいことでしょう。 24 金持ちが天国に入るよりは、らくだが針の穴を通るほうがずっとやさしいのです。」
25 このことばに、弟子たちはすっかり面食らってしまいました。「それなら、この世の中で、救われる人などいるでしょうか。」
26 イエスは、弟子たちをじっと見つめて言われました。「人間にはできません。だが、神には何でもできます。」
27 その時、ペテロが質問しました。「私たちは何もかも捨てて、お従いしてきました。それで、いったい何がいただけるのでしょうか。」
28 イエスはお答えになりました。「メシヤ（救い主）のわたしが、やがて、御国の栄光の王座につく時、あなたがたも十二の王座について、イスラエルの十二の部族をさばくことになるのです。 29 わたしに従うために、家、兄弟、姉妹、父、母、妻、子、あるいは財産を捨てた者はだれでも、代わりにその百倍もの報いを受け、また永遠のいのちをもいただくのです。 30 ただ、今は先頭を行くように見える者が、その時には最後になり、今は最後にいるように見えても、その時には先頭になる者が多くいるのです。

19 When Jesus had finished saying these things,(B) he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan. 2 Large crowds followed him, and he healed them(C) there.
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife(D) for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a](E) 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]?(F) 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”(G)
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”(H)
10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.(I) 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
The Little Children and Jesus(J)
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them(K) and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs(L) to such as these.”(M) 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(N)
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life(O)?”(P)
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”(Q)
18 “Which ones?” he inquired.
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery,(R) you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[c](S) and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’[d]”(T)
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect,(U) go, sell your possessions and give to the poor,(V) and you will have treasure in heaven.(W) Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich(X) to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(Y)
27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you!(Z) What then will there be for us?”
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne,(AA) you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.(AB) 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.(AC) 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.(AD)
