⁸ And having food and clothing, with these we shall be ^(A)content.

⁵ Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ^(A)“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” ⁶ So we may boldly say:

Do Not Worry^(A)

²⁵ “Therefore I say to you, ^(B)do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? ^26 (C)Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? ²⁷ Which of you by worrying can add one ^[a]cubit to his ^[b]stature?

²⁸ “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; ²⁹ and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not ^[c]arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

³¹ “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ ³² For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ But ^(D)seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

^20 (A)Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If ^(B)God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me ^(C)bread to eat and clothing to put on,

¹² I know that nothing is ^(A)better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, ¹³ and also that ^(B)every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.

⁷ “For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your ^[a]trudging through this great wilderness. ^(A)These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.” ’

^24 (A)Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God. ²⁵ For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, ^[a]more than I? ²⁶ For God gives ^(B)wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that ^(C)he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.
