¹⁵ For this we say to you ^(A)by the word of the Lord, that ^(B)we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are ^[a]asleep.

⁵¹ Behold, I tell you a ^[a]mystery: ^(A)We shall not all sleep, ^(B)but we shall all be changed— ⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. ^(C)For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and ^(D)this mortal must put on immortality.

¹⁴ knowing that ^(A)He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.

¹⁹ For ^(A)what is our hope, or joy, or ^(B)crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the ^(C)presence of our Lord Jesus Christ ^(D)at His coming?

¹⁷ For ^[a]I have been told ^(A)by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’ ”

¹⁸ He said to him, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (He was lying to him.)

²⁵ He said, “Yes.”

And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from ^(A)strangers?”

Ahab Condemned

³⁵ Now a certain man of ^(A)the sons of the prophets said to his neighbor ^(B)by the word of the Lord, “Strike me, please.” And the man refused to strike him.
