¹³Ngayon nga'y masdan ninyo ang hari na inyong pinili, at siya ninyong hiningi: at, narito, nilagyan kayo ng Panginoon ng isang hari sa inyo.

¹⁴Kung kayo'y matatakot sa Panginoon, at maglilingkod sa kaniya, at makikinig sa kaniyang tinig, at hindi manghihimagsik laban sa utos ng Panginoon, at kayo at gayon din ang hari na naghahari sa inyo ay maging masunurin sa Panginoon ninyong Dios, ay mabuti:

¹⁵Nguni't kung hindi ninyo didinggin ang tinig ng Panginoon, kundi manghihimagsik kayo laban sa utos ng Panginoon, ay magiging laban nga sa inyo ang kamay ng Panginoon gaya sa inyong mga magulang.

¹³·Now [All right; So] here is the king you chose, the one you asked for. The Lord has ·put [set; appointed] him over you. ¹⁴·You must [If you…] ·honor [fear] the Lord and ·serve [worship] him. You must ·obey [listen to] his ·word [voice] and not ·turn [rebel] against ·his commands [^Lthe mouth of the Lord]. Both you and the king ·ruling [reigning] over you must follow the Lord your God. If you do, it will be well with you. ¹⁵But if you don’t ·obey [listen to the voice of] the Lord, and if you ·turn [rebel] against ·his commands [^Lthe mouth of the Lord], ·he [the hand of the Lord] will be ·against [heavy on] you. ·He will do to you what he did to […as it was on] your ·ancestors [fathers].

¹³Now here is the king^(A) you have chosen, the one you asked^(B) for; see, the Lord has set a king over you. ¹⁴If you fear^(C) the Lord and serve and obey him and do not rebel^(D) against his commands, and if both you and the king who reigns over you follow the Lord your God—good! ¹⁵But if you do not obey the Lord, and if you rebel against^(E) his commands, his hand will be against you, as it was against your ancestors.
