10 Ella, llena de tristeza, suplicó al Señor, llorando a lágrima viva, 11 y le hizo esta firme promesa:
— Señor del universo, si prestas atención a la humillación de tu esclava, si me tienes en cuenta y no me olvidas, si me concedes un hijo varón, te prometo que te lo entregaré de por vida y que nunca se rapará la cabeza.
12 Elí, por su parte, observaba los labios de Ana que no cesaba de orar al Señor.

10 In her deep anguish(A) Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. 11 And she made a vow,(B) saying, “Lord Almighty(C), if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember(D) me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life,(E) and no razor(F) will ever be used on his head.”
12 As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth.
