Samuel Is Born to Hannah

¹⁹ Then they arose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord, and returned again to their house in ^(A)Ramah. And Elkanah ^[a]had relations with Hannah his wife, and ^(B)the Lord remembered her.

⁵ Then they will be ^(A)dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and Egypt their ^(B)boast.

⁶ So the inhabitants of this coastland will say in that day, ‘Behold, such is our hope, where we fled ^(A)for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and we, ^(B)how shall we escape?’”

¹³ When he prayed to Him, ^(A)He was moved by his entreaty and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh ^(B)knew that the Lord was God.

Prayer and the Golden Rule

⁷ “^[a](A)Ask, and ^(B)it will be given to you; ^[b]seek, and you will find; ^[c]knock, and it will be opened to you.

⁷ now, will not God ^(A)bring about justice for His ^(B)elect who cry to Him day and night, ^[a]and will He ^(C)delay long over them?

⁸ I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, ^(A)will He find ^[a]faith on the earth?”
