³⁰ And when the Lord has done to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning you and has appointed you prince^[a] over Israel,

¹⁴ But now ^(A)your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man ^(B)after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince^[a] over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

¹⁷ And he said to him, “Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. ^(A)Saul my father also knows this.”

²⁸ And Samuel said to him, ^(A)“The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.
