¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you shall ^(A)die, because you have taught ^(B)rebellion against the Lord.’ ”

^14 (A)But now your kingdom shall not continue. ^(B)The Lord has sought for Himself a man ^(C)after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have ^(D)not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

⁶ ‘And ^(A)the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.

²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter ^(A)pass^[a] through the fire, ^(B)or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, ^11 (C)or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or ^(D)one who calls up the dead.

¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For ^(A)you^[a] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

^5 (A)As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse—for they are a ^(B)rebellious house—yet they ^(C)will know that a prophet has been among them.

⁶ “And you, son of man, ^(D)do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though ^(E)briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; ^(F)do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, ^(G)though they are a rebellious house. ^7 (H)You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious. ⁸ But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and ^(I)eat what I give you.”
