² shepherd ^(A)the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, ^(B)not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and ^(C)not ^[a]with greed but with eagerness; ³ nor yet as ^(D)domineering over ^[b]those assigned to your care, but by ^[c]proving to be ^[d](E)examples to the flock.

⁸ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

¹¹ “^(A)I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd ^(B)lays down His life for the sheep. ¹² He who is a hired hand, and not a ^(C)shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters the flock. ¹³ He flees because he is a hired hand and does not care about the sheep.

¹⁷ For we are not like the many, ^[a](A)peddling the word of God, but ^(B)as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ ^(C)in the sight of God.

¹⁸ What, then, is my ^(A)reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel ^(B)without charge, so as ^(C)not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

⁸ nor did we ^(A)eat ^[a]anyone’s bread ^[b]without paying for it, but with ^(B)labor and hardship we kept ^(C)working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; ⁹ not because we do not have ^(D)the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves ^(E)as a role model for you, so that you would ^[c]follow our example. ¹⁰ For even ^(F)when we were with you, we used to give you this order: ^(G)if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.

³ and in their ^(A)greed they will ^(B)exploit you with ^(C)false words; ^(D)their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
