⁵⁴ On the anniversary of the day on which the Gentiles had desecrated it, on that very day it was dedicated with hymns, harps, flutes, and cymbals. ⁵⁵ All the people prostrated themselves in adoration and praised Heaven, who had granted success to their endeavors.

⁵⁶ They celebrated the dedication of the altar for eight days and joyfully offered burnt offerings and sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving.
